Harry Kane MBE

Madrid fans would tear him to pieces far worse then they have Bale if they had to watch him every week.

in a 38 league game season, he will be injured for 10 of them, he will take another 10 to get back up to speed, he will be worth a goal in another 10 and in the other 8 he will be top class(not world class)
I don't agree with all of the contents of this, but I think you have perfectly summed up what the Real fans perception would be.
Reality is irrelevant to Real.
You have to be a galactico.

I think Neymar is the only player currently that could fill the Ronaldo boots (ability, flair, arrogance, cheat). Real would like him. He is one of them.

Kane scores at a rate that brings trophies to a team with a capable defence. Our defence is the problem, individuals who are not playing well enough.
I think our team defence is the issue, rather than just the defence.
We don't defend from the front anymore.
Our CM lacks a defensive gameplan.
Our formation is exploitable defensively.
Add to that some poor performances by defenders.

A bit like a Lineker actually, your right he does score goals at a rate that a top team wins trophies. Your also right that our defence this season as a collective have been poor, far to many individual mistakes.

But and I am guessing none on here will agree with me is that when Kane plays he is very similar to Gerrard and that everything has to go through him.

Now Gerrard won his club a European cup. Would be chuffed to bits if Kane did the same for us and he would be a legend for ever for me. As it is he is a good goal scorer and a nice polite hard working man but some on here can not take even the slightest of objective criticism of him. It is religious in its style and I hate religion.

He would not be after a season when yes he will have got goals but not every week. Ronaldo who I hated but he was a beast, they wont find one like him again in a hurry.

I'm not saying he is as good as Ronaldo.
But he is a galactico.
Bale has a good record, but he isn't diving or being a clam.
Neymar brings probably a similar footballing return to Bale, but he'll also be an absolute Danchev - Real like that

We played poorly in those games I will give you that, but we had more effort in those matches and were trying to attack in different methods.

I am usually overly critical with Tottenham, well you are with your own team but what I saw of our criticism of Gerrad I can see in Kane. Not so much his fault, but the coaches need to coach the other players that the is someone other then Kane on the pitch.

Yeah i think you're just twisting it to suit your argument tbh

I know what your saying. But honestly their fans are so pathetic I dont think they care about anything but actual goals and winning stuff and Neymar as you say will probably only bring a similar goals return to Bale.

Back on Kane if he went there they would eat him alive after seeing what they have done to Bale. That said if he won a couple of Euro cups along the way he might not care.

The flaw in your logic is that both play central positions so the games naturally go through them

And Kane is better than a nice goal scorer

The guy is simply phenomenal and has scored 200 career goals already

I agree regarding Kane, he is obviously our best striker, but when he doesn't play we always seem more fluid as others take responsibility and try different things. When he plays we seem to think he'll bail us out all the time.

For me he shouldn't have started against Burnley. You've got Son flying at that point, bring Kane off the bench if he was needed, give others the confidence to see that their work without him in the team will be rewarded even if it's for an extra 45 mins. Playing certain players 90 mins every week has a knock on mental effect on the squad. If your a guy that's waited for your chance done well and then immediately benched, what's the point.

Rereading my posts it comes across more critical of Kane then I am trying to be.

Not sure how to get across as I am not the most articulate. He is a good player, like Shearer he can become all time top scorer if he stays here for another 6 years or so. But and it is as much a complaint about the manager and the other players as it is him.

When he comes back it is the saviour returning and a lack of a plan b that is the problem with Kane being the top striker. I can never see Poch taking him off when we are chasing a game where as Ferguson would take off anyone. The issue then becomes not so much with Kane but how his team mates respond to him and whether his manager has a big enough personality to deal with him.

I dont think Poch has it in him to play a different way. Kane is professional if Poch subbed him to try something different he would accept it, but Poch never would, that is the issue.

Added to that is the fact that we can play without him, we've proved that two seasons in a row. Even with Alli today, is not often that someone goes from a lengthy absence to straight back in the line up.

There is no doubt that Kane is a top player and like all top strikers is selfish on the field, but it is true to say that when he returns from injury he does sometimes dwells on the ball instead of playing the ball to those in better positions. He could/should have had a couple of goals ( yesterday) but he could/should have played it to others on occasions as well.

I remember Alli flicked a header on to Kane - he took it SUPER EARLY and volleyed it wide, from distance. Had time to take a touch.

And then Eriksen chipped it through, it bobbled on Kane's head and shoulder and then... same as above.

And later Eriksen gave a neat pass into Kane in the box and he skied it first time with his left peg, had time to take a touch and pass it home.

Strange behaviour, no need to snatch at these.

I also remember another time he ran through and put it in the corner but Gunn pulled off a very good fingertip save.

Oh yeah, and he scored.

So that is 5 good chances. Normally he puts away 2 or 3 of those and we win.

And the one that was 'a cross' but we know he trying to replicate the curling screamer against the goons. It was as if he was only interested in scoring spectacular goals.
