I liked Erik Lamela before it was cool

Basically there are more players to share around the chances we create, Son Alli Kane Eriksen - 3 at a minimum of those will be playing and looking to create and score goals. Zaha will be in amongst those trying to match the output from when everything went through him.

The no. of chances he gets will likely reduce, not increase as a result of being in a stronger team.

Thats one way of looking at it. A bit of an odd one, IMO.

Chances arent a fintie thing, are they? We dont have a quota to share around.

I dont see why it needs to be any more complicated than he would be able to play in a better team, with more freedom to thrive, and likely increase his output as a result.

EDIT: Thats aside from what his skillset brings to the players around him as well.

To be honest i would rather keep Lamela then Zaha who is a typical winger, promises much but delivers very little. IMO

Basically describes Lamela as well, doesnt it?

I have said lately that i would not be surprised to see Lamela leave in the summer, i was a big fan of his but he seems to have dropped a level ( injurys catching up?). But for what Zaha would cost us ( transfer fee, wages) then i would rather see us keep Lamela. Stop! Hammer time of course but i have not seen anything when watching Zaha both live and on the box that ( imo) warrants the hype that surrounds him.

The big pluses lamela has over zaha are cost and team harmony.
As long as lamela is happy on the bench and tries his heart out when he gets game time we will keep him.
Zaha I don't think would be happy with that. And then setting a bench warmers salary at £120k a week is a dangerous precedent.

Ive seen plenty to welcome him to the club happily if it were ever to happen.

And I dont think money should be a factor by witch fans judge him (potentially).

Its ridiculous what players go for these days, its become meaningless, so my take is that if the club go for it then its fine.

I see no reason why he wouldnt get plenty of games. He offers something unique to our squad, so even if he didnt start Im sure he would come off the bench.

We're not going to be spending big money. Zaha would be big money, if we're spending big money I'd like it in other positions. I guess we might buy four or five punts. I wouldn't like that either.

Thats not our business as fans, thats up to the club. We shouldnt concern ourselves with it.

IMHO Levy (specifically) and Poch have earned our trust on these matters. IF they go for him, and IF he costs that much - so be it.

True, but I don't see ir happening.
Im not against it, just don't think it will happen.

Only time will tell.

I couldnt believe it when we spent £30m on Sissoko, or £40m on Sanchez - for different reasons both I would have said were really unlikely before they happened.

Just as people thought it impossible we would go not one but TWO windows without buying anyone!

So Im kind of passed thinking in absolutes too much about what definitely will or wont happen.

It seems we have a long standing interest in Zaha, and personally I think he would be a good buy - IF it were to happen Id be quite happy.

I wont be writing off the possibility.

Same as I wouldnt say it wont happen because we need other positions first. While I agree we could use players in other positions first, its rare players become available that conveniently isnt it?

I gave up trying to second guess our transfer policy a long time ago.

Lamela is likely up for review at end of season, easy to keep, but just as easy to see him moving on (Italy/Argentina) and us re-investing.

Re buys, I really believe Poch will push for an overhaul in summer (and he will have a little leverage), to me, 2 FBs, CM, probably DM (based on Wanyama), CB (depending on Toby) are all on the cards, and I think at least 1 needs to be an automatic 1st team player (quality, probably expensive). If not, it will just be another top 4 grind of a season (with Scum & United likely improving next season).

5 christ that brick your smoking must be strong.......5:eek:

We will be bringing in £100M plus don’t forget from selling Eriksen and Toby

Plus anything for Kevin, Jansenn and maybe Lamela or moura

That should be somewhere between £20 and £50m more

I also see someone like Trippier going for £20m plus and Poch starting with a new clean slate with some

Hence why I can see so many incoming happening

Probably 3 for now and a few for development
