The Official 2018/19 Premier League Thread

Puel gets some over the top stick for me.

He got the tactics for us spot on, if they could finish we were in trouble, wathced them a few times and generally look decent enough, not sure where they expect to be.
 
Yesterday they looked to me very much like a team in transition. Getting the old guard out, giving the new younger players time to grow.

They looked promising but IMHO were largely ineffective. Were I a Leicester fan Id be excited for what the team could be in a couple of seasons, rather than now, if you see what I mean?

In that sense, Puel looks like he is doing a decent job - but the general vibes around him suggest he wont be there to see it through.

Makes you wonder what will happen then, will a new manager build on that work or tear it up?

Another good point - no obvious candidate and their recent record is somewhat scattergun.

If I had to guess Id say something like SCBC have done in a Hasenhuttl type buy. Done decent work in midtable elsewhere.

Truthfully, who else would really want it?

I think they have nothing to lose letting Puel carry on. Vardy on 200k a week is not the future where as the young lads playing yesterday are, they will be a better side when the likes of Morgan. Vardy and Kasper are no longer at the club and players are pulling in the direction of the manager

I think thats the catch.

Those players still hold a lot of kudos with board and fans, IMO, and if they dont start pulling behind Puel he is done for.

Think Chelsea with Terry and co pulling the strings.

Seems like a club to me where the players can get rid of a manager rather easily. Ranieri wont them the league and didnt even get any support!

While I agree with you, pragmatically stick with Puel and see that transition through - Id be surprised if they did that.

After doing a bit of digging for the Next 9 Games thread, I notice that by the time Chelsea play Wolves four games from now, it could be for the three points that pull Wolves ahead of Chelsea.
