Victimpool FC - Klopp leaving, grown men crying

“We had good moments, scored a goal that was offside but I think the ref knew at half-time and you saw there were a lot of strange situations, not decisive, just rhythm breakers…50-50s, 60-40s, free-kick for the other team. I said to the referee about a lot of situations, I was really calm…it’s nothing serious.

“He didn’t respond nicely and I said, ‘is that the way we talk now?’ and he said, ‘we don’t talk at all’.

If not for the ref Liverpool wouldnt have had the point they took, so he really needs a little perspective.

Just as the like of Mane did enough to earn two yellows, and was instead rewarded with free kicks...

50:50s went against him, he is just so used to getting them all I guess,

I would argue BR had them playing better football, more complex, more of a "team attack" - certainly not as direct IMO.

Not that I was a massive fan of that side either.

Lots of similarities

- Basic midfield that spends very little time trying to control game
- Attacking front 3 based on pace
- Most of game spent punting ball to wider of front 3, usually on a counter
- Neither side good at managing games out, reliant on scoring 2 or 3 to be safe
- Major tactic is to blow away opposition with tempo in first 30-45 minutes of game

Always saw them as an upscale Leicester.

To me the sign of a great side is control of the game, usually easier with possession, but some teams can do it without and the ability to have something more than a "bum rush and hope the pressure tells" strategy. A side that can control the game, tear you apart with incisive passing and running and can grind you down even if you are parking the bus, playing to tactically negate. Neither of BR/Klopp's teams in my opinion have that.

Doesn't matter I guess, if they win the league we will hear about what a tactical masterclass it is, if they lose .. somebody cheated them of their entitlement

This is what is called biting the hand that feeds you! Liverpool have had decades of soft refs bending over for them, it's a great culture shock when one or two decision don't go their way. Most of the media grew up with them winning everything so it's hard for them to.

Hard to argue.

I should state, while saying Brs side was "better" - it is relative!

I wasnt a fan of that team either. Though I feel they were better in possession, largely thanks to Coutinho, and had a little more about them in terms of a game plan.

As I say though, wasnt really a fan of that side - very much over rated, and its hard to argue with you otherwise.

Even if Liverpool win the league this year, IMHO, they arent a great side and not the best team in the league either.

About half of the 50-50s went against Liverpool.

Now Robertson is saying poor widdle wiverpoo are tired:

Maybe if the Dippers coach and players stopped whining about injuries, refs and fatigue they'd have more energy to play football and not let it slip.

Maybe if Klopp didnt have the charge around like headless chickens at 100mph all season they wouldnt be tired?

Im sure in Germany, with the month off in the middle of the season, its something that can be kept up all season.

I would also have thought that even if Klopp didnt have the foresight to realise it would be an issue in the EPL, he would have worked it out his first season when they tanked. And then if not, then surely in his second?

But this is now his 4th season and here we are, same old issue...

Some Pool donut at work here said they had 5 main players out on Monday which is why they didnt perform.

Fcuk off, your main performers for all season Firminho, Salad and Sane were all playing and havent been injured all year. Hope they all get fcuked up against Bournemouth and wont be back until next season, then come back and moan about injuries.

I hate liverpool and their fans more than any other club I think.

Those 3, VVD and the goalkeeper are their most important players. I don't think any of them have missed much game time this season. Liverpool have been very, very fortunate this season.

Every club gets injuries. Most clubs get them to key players. The unfortunate clubs get injuries to key players at the same time.
