Transfer Window Thread

We have let 2 players out that have played minutes in the past few games.

Hopefully it means Wanyama is up and running and Alli and Kane are not as bad.

Minutes in 2 competitions that we arent in anymore, really dont need to get anyone in now. Suspect Kane is back in 3-4 games. 1 of those is CL where most would be Cup-tied, 1 is 36hrs away and so any player wouldnt play in
Summer is going to be interesting as players as 3 at least will drop out of squad (and all foreign so will have space for replacements)

Yeah in the summer I can see going, Alderweild, Wanamya, Vorm, Llorente, Noks, Janssen and possibly Sissoko. While youth players Onomah, Walker-Peters and Carter-Vickers will be sold or given season long loans.

Which of the transfers that have happened this window would have made us significantly stronger? None as far as I see it. So why bother then.

Flawed argument as we wouldn’t have gone for the players involved in transfers if they were not suited.

Was also joking !

Sissoko will be kept, I also suspect Wanyama may also be kept
I think to completely overhaul a squad thats finished top ;) wouldnt be seen as sensible.

Would more expect Toby, Vorm, Llorente out and Son Type, English GK, LCB, CM to come in

Ideally id like to cash in on Trippier but suspect Poch will give him pre-season to sort himself out

Vorm/Llorente our of contract that’s two spaces straight away - promote youth keeper to third choice.

Nkoudou will a success at Monaco hopefully which will see him leave

Dembele gone now so we have 4 spaces.

I think we will give Wanyama part of pre-season to prove fitness

Christian/Toby potential outs.

We don’t need 3 RBs either

That’s a lot of wiggle room

Pulisc

Not that we could have afforded him.

If we did have 50m to spend this window then I think this thinking and doing things slightly differently that I want us to do, means we should have looked for a buy and loan back to get one of our targets here.

Maybe this Soler chap or N'Dombele or De Ligt, whoever really but if we want to go after the really good players in Europe that is not in the unreachable target stage then we have to perhaps do things differently. Ajax always seem happy to bring some money in, offering teams 50m now and loaning players back seems to be the way to bring in long term targets now. Liverpool and Chelsea have both done it.

People who are disappointed or expected signings have set themselves up for anguish.

Poch has been clear, it's so difficult to improve our squad, even more so in January.

He rejected Malcom and Tielemans. Levy tried and offered options, Poch has faith in what we have. Move on, nothing to see here.

Dembele has been replaced by Foyth in the squad

I would also cash in on Tripper(maybe the injury from the world cup has hurt him) I would actually sell both Aurier and Tripper and replace with Wan Bisska and W-P but that wont ever happen.

Sissoko is a good squad player now and does not seem to mind being on the bench, good lad by all accounts as well. Wanamya I just dont think will get back to his best, hope I am wrong.

Central midfield and a son type I agree on as well.

The elephant in the room is whether Eriksen signs a new contract because if he does not, then frankly we have to sell him. Which would be horrible but would also allow us to bring in higher rated players.

I think eriksen has done the right thing, but he wants Real or Barca, and i dont think either of them will make him a priority. Real = Hazard, Barca = De jong, and i suspect Rabiot
Emirates Marketing Project worry me as a Silva replacement, but i would be pretty confident of him staying

Point is that any significant transfers have been few and far between, meaning that the players potentially wanted by clubs, are either not for sale, not keen on moving or just outright too expensive (price>quality).
Hardly any of the top clubs in any leagues have done any business.
