We have to battle it out here and hope we can fluke a win against City.

Stamford Bridge

The base of the team should be solid. Personally I'd give Llorente another go despite the horrific performance on Sunday

-------------------------Gazza----------------------------

---Trippier---Alderweireld--Vertonghen---Davies---

---------------------Dier----------Winks------------------

-------Lamela-------------Eriken----------Moura-------

-------------------------Llorente------------------------

subs: Lloris, Sanchez, Rose, KWP, Skipp, GKN, Sterling

Lineup (3-4-2-1)

Gazzanigga - Toby, Davinson, Super-Jan - Trips, Winksy, Dier, Rose - Eriksen, Lamela - Lucas

Bench:

Lloris, Foyth, Davies, KWP, Skipp, GKN, Llorente

Spurs to go through on penalties

brave. I dread to think what the avatar potential is for a defeat

Gazza

Aurier Toby Sanchez Jan Rose
Winks Dier
Lamela Eriksen Moura
Llorente

That team could hold them with Lamela snapping at heels as a defensive forrward and Dier back in the side, hopefully Moura can spring them on the break. Is Sissoko definitely out?

I think the rent boys might have a bit of a moan, if we put 12 players out...

N'Koudou up top, we park the bus and hit it long for him to hit them on the break (as they won't be expecting us to)? Be brave, Poch! ;)

With no PL game until the 30th of Jan, we can give this game full focus and energy. Fingers crossed Dier is ready for 70 minutes. Llorente should have a chance to play. Won't be an easy game for him, but he should look to contribute, bring in attackers, and maybe get a goal. We didn't look great with 3 at the back. Will Poch refine the system, or revert to a back 4 now Dier is fit?

I dreamt we lost 3-0 the other night and it was very meek. Just completely battered.

Now, I do have form in this area. I dreamt Gazzas goal v Woolwich in 1991 (albeit in a 4-3 win). Genuinely saw that thing of beauty a few days before it happened.

However, since then my strike rate has been 0% so I’m hoping I used up all my psychic brownie points in 1991.

I dreamt Lamela scored a brace before he did but I’m still waiting too see the unveiling of Modric and Bale under the coming home banner at new WHL.

Gazza
Toby-Sanchez-Jan
Tripps-Dier-Winks-Rose
Eriksen-Lamela
Llorente

Hopefully Moura’s Fit enough for the bench? We are seriously lacking in pace.

Why would you drop Sanchez? Thought he looked like playing himself in to form the last 30 minutes of the Fulham game.

4 at the back worked well against their formation in the first leg, so would keep it the same. No reflection on Sanchez at all. I also think that Dier in front of a back 4 cramps the space which Hazard likes to work in, and obviously with Dier in CM its always easy to switch formations. I could equally see Poch going with a back 3 though

If Moura’s not fit would you go for 3 at the back?

For me it’s about getting the best/fittest players on the pitch and hope for the best! We’re also 1up so if we can frustrate them for as long as possible they might panic. They must be relatively low on confidence and their managers just publicly called them out so they’ll start like men possessed but if we can get to HT still in the lead they’ll become more desperate.
