Dembele gone then?!
ICYMI...

@AlasdairGold

Will Vertonghen and Dembele be fit to take part?

I don't believe Mousa Dembele is going to be, still not match fit still. Of course he's training with the group. I need to assess him tomorrow, but I don't believe he's match fit. He's still not fit enough to play. Vertonghen I need to assess because we have plenty of centre-backs. It's my decision. I think he's in the same position as Mousa Dembele. We'll see if he's fit enough to have one space in the starting XI, bench or maybe he's going to be out.

Any update on Dembele leaving?

No, I cannot say nothing, because it's like last week when you asked me about his situation, I know nothing. Still no news.

Reading their match thread on the redcafe. they really are some of the most deluded fans on the planet. popular opinions from them include Kane is not world class (one poster compared him to Andy Carroll), Martial is superior to Kane, none of our front 4 would get on there team. Oh yeh and Pogba is back to being the best player in the country.
Almost tempting to make an account and post the Solskjær table.

It will be interesting, post Jose they have just been more open and allowed their attacking players freedom.

That against us could be a mistake, anytime we have space we tend to hurt the opposition.

I hope the team goes out to smash them ...
I thought this too. Maybe not a complete smashing that will have fans doubting Solskjaer, a quick blast to go 2 nil up, control the game and rest on the ball before a late third off a promising move countered by us which will lead to delusions that it was a close game. Maybe a pen or close offside call to start it all off.

Attack

A month or two ago Spurs would have won hands down in this area because United were playing without confidence. Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Son Heung-min would all have been on José Mourinho’s theoretical shopping list, because the manager said so. United have done some catching up in recent weeks, however, with Marcus Rashford in particular showing his value and Romelu Lukaku becoming more effective. While Spurs are still more of a handful for defences, due to Kane’s accuracy, Alli’s elegant simplicity and Son’s cleverly channelled energy, perhaps a revived United deserve the benefit of the doubt.

Verdict Draw

We won midfield and defence though, but Poch should definitely go there anyway.

He loses all credibility as soon as he mentions lukaku as a plus, our second striker, son, is better than him. Its not even close ffs.

Our big big problem is we look very tired and generally sluggish especially in the second halves of the past few premiership games.

I think that we have been seeing games out, rather than running out of steam.

I’m hoping you are right.
Rashford & Co will be well up for this.
Chelsea should have been home and hosed with the amount of pressure they applied, thought we were well off colour again.

I think this too.

In fact I saw this as the reason we lost to Wolves more than the tiredness. I felt we were falling into that same trap vs. Chelscum in the Semi's before Kane's cute injury delay that gave time to regroup with Poch giving instructions during the break.

All part of managing the game. Not something I'm keen on as it also invites pressure which in turn can get the fans a bit nervy (well at least this fan)...

Have to see if we can close out the end of games as we see the elite teams do again and again.

Tomorrow vs Manure will be a test of who wants it most imho. I hope it's us...

----------------Lloris-----------------
--Trips - David - Toby - Rose--
---Sissoko - Winks - Dele-------
--------Eriksen - Son---------------
---------------Kane-------------------

Subs: Gazza, KWP, Foyth, Lamela, Skipp, Llorente, Moura

That'll do it for me :)

Get through this match, and we have a week's rest until Fulham. We need a break now; time to assess the fitness of the squad properly and rest those in need of rest.

Jan should be back next weekend, hopefully Dier too. And if we don't sell Dembele, he could be in contention in February as well, if we're lucky. Barring new injuries, that should see us in a good position before the run in.

I think we look shagged out. (Technical term;))
Sissoko and Winks are working miracles.
