Danny Rose

Would recommend Lost Connections by Johann Hari for a view on depression different from the chemical imbalance hypothesis. Not looking to start a huge discussion on it, but the chemical imbalance hypothesis is controversial and imo far from the only answer.

Rose recovering from that and recovering form is great news all around.

I’m not an expert and I know very little about it other than what the missus tells me.

Depression comes from a chemical inbalanace, so it’s a physical illness that causes mental issues (my wife is a mental health expert).

The side effects are that when you have that imbalance you will think and operate differently

Having suffered for years with depression i agree it is a chemical imbalance, there is another form which is classed as "reactive depression.....ie depression brought about by a situation" and this is one that can be handled easier then the other.

In fairness, overthinking is a key, key ingredient of depression and anxiety

On the plus side, you get a better class of book to read in the bog. A member of my family who suffers from it seems to read nothing but books on philosophy. I try to be stoical about it ...

(No offence intended. It's a serious subject but you've got to look on the brighter side when you can).

Probably his best defensive performance since his return, tonight v Chelsea. He was excellent against some tough individual opponents.
Thought he gave Hudson a bit too much room at times, he was still good, but I think he’s played much better in a couple of games since he’s been back, particularly at the nou camp.

Rose is beginning to play with an admirable bit of swagger and dash to his game. Or swash and buckle (knees) if you prefer.

Looked like he hurt himself a little on that last slide tackle but saw out the final minutes.

That's always been a worry of mine - it seems his style is to leave the winger room and then close quickly if the ball goes out that way.

It's not the way I'd do it, but it seems to be effective. If it doesn't lead to errors then fine by me.

He is plying his trade in the pitch and you sir a&e doing it in your head ...

The best in the game didn't do it the way Rose does either.

Like I said, I don't mind his style being unorthodox as long as it works. It's a high risk, high reward strategy that's currently working. If he misses that tackle it leaves an enormous amount of space though.
