I liked Erik Lamela before it was cool

Yup, we've had far more than our fair share this season - amazing really that we're doing so well given our injuries and lack of stadium!

Using data from transfermarkt.com, I've done an analysis of how many games have been missed through injury across Spurs, Emirates Marketing Project, Liverpool and Chelsea's first team squads this season - just to hammer the point home:

Incredible!

Great work @eltrev. I felt we had had more injuries than our rivals.

It would be interesting to see if Liverpool have to do without VVD, Salah and Mane for extended periods, exactly how they would cope.

That's not right, Chelsea have had Morata, Barkley and Hazard out for at least 4 games each. Pedro has been injured a bit as well.

Hazard was rested to start with
Don’t remember him being injured
But don’t doubt that number is too low

It is really disappointing Lamela is injured just when we are facing tough matches. Hope he will be fully fit when we play Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi finals and ManU in the league. After the way he started the season in brilliant form, it is really unlucky to get the injury now.

You seem perennially disappointed but always remain hopeful!

The word is that he is sick, which whilst remains disappointing may mean that he will be available for selection soon. With his fitness record and the form of Erisken Alli and Son it does seem that his role will mainly be as a sub so at least we won’t be overly reliant on him with Moura in contention too.

Welcome to our new striker. with no Kane. Son, Jansson and Llorente being about as mobile as a barge, Lamela is probably the best option we have.

yeah he might as well not have been on the pitch last night. Not even one of those "its the unseen work he does off the ball" games. He was anon.

He's a funny player.

It's as if (due to his limited appearences) he thinks that his baseline is to hound, hustle, brick house etc as that will please the fans and the boss and noone can call him out for not trying.

And you can not knock that effort one bit BUT I think that effort is so all encompassing that it's getting in the way of what type of player he really can be. (Technically he is very good)

I bet when you look back at his Roma days, he played nothing like we see him do and probably bought him as a scorer/creator.

Edit: I'd add he's been here a fair while now, and if someone came in for him with a good bid, I'd accept based on next year and the year after I'd be seeing/thinking the same about him as now.

Was he was a funny player early this year when he scored a few important goals and made a few important assists? And do you think he is perhaps doing what he is told to do by Poch?
And thanks for the itk that you will accept any potential decent bid for him. That’s good intel for us to have in advance of his departure.

Jeez just an opinion.

Don't forget he ended last season very well as well.

Sorry to pick you up on that:)

Try to put last night behind you?

Thing is, if we get rid of him, and Trippier, and Hugo, and Davies, and Sissoko who are we going to blame?
It's funny after a baf result waiting to see which of those lot are going to cop it, seldom takes long. Takes a longtime, if ever, for any of them get credit after good result though.
