The Youth Players/On-Loan Thread 2018/19

Onomah seems to be in the unfortunate position of having to play for Steve Bruce for a second season running. That's assuming that Bruce is appointed in the next week or so. Who knows, he may somehow impress under Bruce, but I doubt they will suddenly turn into the type of team the Josh would thrive in.

I also agree with Windy that a move away would be best for him.
I’d just get him back and give him some minutes. Can’t do him any more harm, and feck knows we need bodies in centre mid currently. What with 40 games in 3 weeks. Or something.

His style of play reminds me of a Kane/Lamela hybrid... Can't be a bad thing. Very promising

for a 16 year old his decision making was right more often than i thought it would be and also quite a lot quicker. big frame, good touch, took up good positions without spending too much energy; i was really impressed.

his right foot curler will be marked out of the game in his second season though :p

Onomah is even more fudged now Steve Bruce is taking over at Wednesday. We really need to recall him

I don't think he's got any future at Spurs. I've been a big defender of his in the past but he has failed to make the most of a number of loans now and younger players are ahead of him in the pecking order. The only way I see him being recalled is if we have a club that want to sign him permanently.

Who are the youths in the full back positions? We really need a powerful and fast runner for the first team.

Is he a central midfielder, or more attacking in e sort of Jesse Lingaard way? We seem to be producing a lot of small-ish CMs at the moment - Winks, Skipp, TOB, this chap,

There’s a recent (long) write up on him from one of the youth teams followers :

Young Paris for those of you who have only seen him in fleeting glimpses is a silky and powerful creative central midfielder, who also regularly plays a number ten and as an inside forward. The skilful Maghoma is most accomplished in the middle of the park and he is a player in the mould of a player such as Paul Pogba or Ross Barkley. He is an expressive midfielder who links defence with attack so well.

Paris is a very skilful midfielder who plays with a lot of flair about him, unlike many midfielders Maghoma is always looking to take on and beat players and drive forward with the ball. He is effective as a box to box midfielder and this season he has also shown that he can play as a midfield destroyer if needs be

Well that's very promising.
But translating such a style to the older groups is a different and greater challenge.
