I liked Erik Lamela before it was cool

Thing is who is going to pay money or prem level wages for Lamela given his injury record? And Wanyama or Dembele for that matter? I don’t think any of them will be going anywhere this season.

Llorente, Janssen and N’Koudou will be worth something to someone and are surplus to requirements and could be attractive to struggling teams in January, as long as Levy doesn’t try and recoup their original fees and they actually want to play football. That could fund an additional centre mid who hopefully can integrate quickly to help rotate Winks and Sissoko until Dier is back around Fe time when we should hopefully have a couple of options for each position. Lamela is a useful 5th choice AM and his new correct may be appearance based given his history with us, Dembele has until the end of the season to get himself fit for his big lady contract in a low standard league. Wanyama is the unknown quantity but from the length if time he’s been out for and the way he played when he came back i’m sad to say I’m not sure if he has any future at this level. I’m racking my brains to think of a player who’s turned it around after such a long layoff?

I think that we've got a chance of shifting Dembele to a Chinese side in January and Wanyama's injury record makes him a perfect signing for West Ham.

How do you explain Chelsea losing to wolves and Leicester?

What about city vs palace?

They lost even with rotation...

Other teams squads are no better they just haven’t had the injuries. Pools bench yesterday with a fully fit squad was fit me quite average

We lost vs arse because we came off the back of two massive games and still needed our best players. They had NO game mid week that their adults played in, hence they were Fresh and full of energy

Wolves was quite similar as we have played I think 7 more games and they were missing no players from their best team.

Pochettino and his guys have worked miracles.
But that excellent work can’t get us past the depth and quality of the group after the run games we have just come through, Wolves in second half was when our chickens came home to roost.
We are a better team than Chelsea and City losing really shocked most people including Pep.

The bottom line is what you expect from Spurs this season?

I will be more than happy with top four. But never saw us a winning the EPL.

Top 4 and a cup
That’s what I expect and expected all along
The squad has always been good enough for that and we can achieve that without doing much different

Pochettino has got us in the top 4.
We are proving you can make a silk purse out of a sows ear!
To some extent.

Wanyama, Dembele, Janssen and Llorente I hope will give Us funds for a midfielder but I’m not convinced.

A cup win will depend on the luck of the draw as we are finding out with the League cup.

If we can steer clear of City and the other big names we might be in with a shout at the FA cup!

They’d even think they’d got one over on us...oh imagine the damage he could do in training to Jack Wheelchair!

It's weird how whenever we have a bad result the same players get dragged out, lamela, Trippier and Hugo as the root causes.
Yet they disappear when credit is being handed out when things are going well.

Lamela was clearly not at fault yesterday...
trippier was poor again but he seems to swing from good to bad quite regualrly this season and I do wonder if he is still carrying the injury that Poch said

Hugo has had some shockers but any goal now seems to be A case of Gazza would have saved it... is for me we’re bloody fortunate to have Gazza as back up as he hasn’t let us down one bit and we have won every game but Hugo is number 1 still and will be fore the foreseeable

Lamela was not even playing? I was talking about squad strengthening in reference to him.

Trippier was concussed imo as he kept passing to the other side.;)

Hugo is a goalkeeper, they are always to blame.....by some.

I didn't quote you in that post so not sure why you think I'm talking about you.

Look at son, or eriksen or Kane or dele threads after a loss, no posts, nothing. And yet they played in our last two defeats and had some shocking stats in attack.
Yet it's always the same ones that get dug out.

We win as a team, we should lose as a team.
Hugo has saved us loads of points.
It wasn't that long ago trippier was leading the assists
Lamela and moura were our best players at the start of the season.
Son, dele, Eriksson and Harry have all been brilliant recently, its a squad game and we need to support them all.

I must have misunderstood what you were saying. ;)

Joking apart, I was just trying to maximise our spending power in the transfer market with the minimum detrimental effect to the squad.
As you and @milo and @Bedfordspurs said Lamela was great earlier in the season but if he keeps breaking down fitness-wise he would be one I would look to cash in on. Our league is not forgiving.

I understand a little bit what you mean, I said in the summer son would be the one go and cash in on, mainly because of the national service hanging over him.
But I suppose we don't get the full picture and need to trust the club and poch, it doesn't look like any of our top 15 or so will be moving anywhere.
