The Carabao Cup 2018/19

The thing that really tinkles me off is that they're no worse than the season they won the title - just less lucky.
That does them huge disservice. They were miles better when they won the League. Tight at the back with Morgan and Huth, then Mahrez and Kante in midfield. One to produce the magic for Vardy to exploit and the other to shut up shop. They got lucky but then so do all champions to a certain extent. Now they are just brick.

They were lucky.
Had more teams let them have even 20% more of the ball, they’d have lost at least 6 more games. They had one trick and nobody sussed it til March. Then April came around and everyone realized our young, ahead-of-schedule side was going to take them. This we became the biggest game of the season week in week out. Some awful reffing too.

I agree they were lucky mate, all things came together to enable them to win the league. Luck that we may not see again. But my argument was they had some very good players too. Miles better than they have now anyway.

12 men behind the ball, bookable offence (at least) to win the ball, hoof it, dive for a set piece, send up the monsters, foul to win the ball and score.

Winning the Leicester way.

So annoying City getting through on pens, think them going out would have been a real boost.

Even in those days of weakened teams it’s a fantastic achievement for Burton to make the semis, Nigel Clough was the last manager to take a league one club to the semis too!

Wonder which way the second legs will be played. As both ourselves and Emirates Marketing Project are due to play on the Sunday in the league. We are in the 16:00 spot so that won’t be moved. I wonder if they might move Emirates Marketing Project’s game to Saturday 19:45 and we then play on Wednesday for the 2nd leg.
