Mauricio Pochettino - Sacked

To quote the main man:

"The players we believe we can rotate, we are going to give that possibility. The health of the squad and the player is so important and we believe we can win with any of our names on the pitch.

We mix names to get the best performance, sometimes it will work sometimes it won't. You need to apply common sense to your selection to keep all fit. Of course there is risk but we must use our information and believe in our squad."

Debate over... Also loved these comments when asked about other managers being outwardly emotional:

"Its not my responsibility to judge other managers, they are all emotional. I am focused on being calm and relaxed.

But it's funny to see how he (Klopp) runs. It's different in certain cultures, some people could take his actions as disrespectful but I think he's a nice guy. People can behave differently to you and we must accept that.

Inside I am more like Klopp and maybe in the changing room but on the touch line I am trying to be relaxed and calm. Maybe one day I will run around eh?"

Humble. Legend.

Edit: For those who need convincing to watch; he talks about the importance of remaining humble in victory (Arsenal players) and he comments on perceptions at the very end which is great. Highly recommended.

Whenever we have a bad result and it all feels a little knee jerky between us fans, Poch’s press conferences always reassure me of the context and bigger picture of what we are trying to do as a football club. He’s spot on about the post match reactions and how we reacted to beating Chelsea and even though I felt there was a risk in not playing Toby those are the decisions he’s paid to make with lot more information available than I have.

Said it before but having him as the figure head of the club makes me proud and he displays a set of values and ideals that are becoming rarer in the game.
If he ever gets bored of this football management thing he’d get my vote if he wanted to start up his own political party. Only issue is he might leave his cabinet reshuffles a little late!

Mate spot on, couldn't have put it better myself.. He's too honest to be a politician though.

Why has a water bottle confused him so much?

If I were Man United, I'd go for Santo at Wolves.

No, you'd go for Poch.

And wait for Spurs or alike to take Santo, prove his worth, before deciding if he is up to a job like Utd.

Utd WILL NOT go for a rookie or unproven manager.

Woodward seems to be gearing them up to get back to the old days of a youthful squad and using the academy, Poch is perfect for that.

He would cost way more than £40m to take him from us, he just signed that new long term contract in the summer. Don’t see him going to Utd unless they pay some serious wedge.

Yeah that £40m quoted price was a clue that Neil Ashton and the Sun are just making the story up for clicks right now.

However, Man Utd have deep, deep pockets and they will be able to pay whatever the price is, so we just have to hope that Levy makes it impossible for Poch to get his head turned by backing him which a) keeps Poch himself happy and b) signals to Woodward to "look elsewhere, Poch's long-term job is here"
