Well. Didnt quite expect to be sat in 3rd tonight. Could have been better, but I think we all knew Burnley would not see out the win. Easy money on Liverpool at 11/4 a goal down.

In a way I can understand why we coast in these games when 2 and 3-0 up, especially with the glut of games we have, but it does get frustrating seeing the oppostion have so many chances sometimes

Well, Chelski lost, which is good, and Arse only drew at OT, so not a bad day for us. Pool and City look out of reach at the moment, so until they start dropping points, our focus should be to stay ahead of the lesser London clubs.

Totally.

Title is a total pipedream and so is 2nd. 2-horse race, preferably won by the team in blue.

Has to be about being the best of the rest, with it beginning to look like 2 from 3 for the other CL spots

Job done.

We play like that on Saturday and we will lose.
Dreadful defending and that’s being kind, could have finished 3-5

I’m pretty certain that if Southampton had scored earlier we’d have stepped it up a bit. When you’re 3 nil up with 6 games coming up quickly it’s natural to drop off and the oppo will see more of the ball.

Our intensity would not be that low if we were only a goal up or needing a goal imo.

That’s fine if you were showing some form of control and seeing the game out!
We looked knackered and a spent force for about 40 minutes!

But 3pts❤️

sounds like all the big money keepers made mistakes tonight, Chelsea bubble has been popped, back above the Goons who have discovered that playing your first x1 twice in a week does have an impact and United are in freefall. Not sure if it was complacency in this game or fatigue but something needs to be addressed in the chances we are giving away. It looks to me to be a team issue not an individual or just the defence, perhaps we just aren't keeping the ball well or pressing players enough

They had decent chances at 1-0

Can’t wait till Jan is back properly

Bloody good evening for us. It's a shame that Liverpool have scampered off after City, but we can be happy being back in third.

Yeah we had no pressing at all, their players had plenty of time to knock it around and into the box.
Really poor from us, we not only took our foot off the gas, we coasted to a stop, got out the car and went for a tinkle in the long grass. Then realised we forgot to put the handbrake on and had to run down the road with our trousers round our knees, wet willy flapping our thighs and tum tum.

We stopped playing once the games was won
Saving ourselves IMO

We were dreadful in the second half what ever way you spin it!
I’m not sure we could go again, we looked dead on our feet for about 40 minutes!

Leicester and Everton will be tough, so we will see!

Flattering score line perhaps but we did what was needed - thanks in a large part to Hugo.
I'm sure the aim was to get through in as low a gear as possible to conserve energy. That's fine as long as we still keep defensive concentration, which we didn't.
Shame to concede the goal. It looked from where I was that Dier slowed down to call the offside although it probably would not have made a difference.
And again it's good that we can spread the scoring duties around our front players.

Good results elsewhere and we are back in third so can't complain.

Actually, I can complain : why do people go to football and just talk all the way through. I mean ALL the way through. And not even about the game. Just inane chatter. Woman in front of me did not draw breath the whole game. It was actually both impressive and distracting whilst being incredibly irritating. Rant over.

We will see
Every team I’ve seen tonight looked leggy
But we were comfortable enough to step off the gas
We were poor but did score 2 goals and then stop first
