Manager Sack Watch

SCBC have sacked Hughes then, prefect timing ??

Very topical!

SCBC are an interesting club. Have potential, but obvious constraints. Finances etc just arent there in a big way, so they will look to farm the academy as much as possible.

Who do they go for next? IMO, more of a "coach" than "manager". Though who that is I couldnt say.

Hughes? Genuinely, I cannot understand why ANY club would go for him. If you are a top club he simply isnt good enough (despite his ego saying otherwise).
If you are a lesser club you are much better off going for an up-and-comer with potential, than you are Hughes who has an obvious ceiling.

Honestly, I cant think of a team that would benefit from him.

As much as Im not a fan of Allardyce, for example, I can always forsee a situation where he is the right man for the job. Hughes? What could posisbly be your problem to have him as the solution?

BBC Sport understands Southampton are set to approach former RB Leipzig manager Ralph Hasenhuttl about the manager's job. The 51-year-old Austrian has been out of work since leaving Leipzig in May.

Not one I would have guessed, but exactly the sort of manager Id have assumed!

48% win rate at Leipzig, while playing decent football, just the sort of coach they could use.

MOYES OPEN TO SAINTS VACANCY

David Moyes is open to speaking to Southampton about their vacant managerial position, according to Sky sources.

It is understood the former Manchester United, Everton and West Ham boss is keen on a return to the Premier League, but there has so far been no contact between himself and Southampton.

Southampton are currently searching for a new manager after sacking Mark Hughes on Monday.

Reminds me of Curbishley! :D

Blimey, from one loser to another.

I bet he straight away walks into another highly paid managerial role

Like where? This is the thing for me - as I said, what could your problem possibly be when Hughes is the solution?

Burnley, Fulham, Huddersfield, Palace, Saudi Sportswashing Machine, Cardiff - all look settled. And who of them would go for him with a vacancy anyway?

Championship clubs are also settled. And most seem to look for talent rather than has beens.

HASENHUTTL AGREES DEAL

Ralph Hasenhuttl has agreed terms on a three-year contract until the summer of 2021 to take over as Southampton boss, Sky Sports News understands.

Pending the conclusion of the finer details on that deal, the Austrian intends to be at Wembley on Wednesday night to watch the Saints’ Premier League clash with Tottenham.

On Tuesday, SSN exclusively broke the news that Hasenhuttl had agreed in principle to take the job after talks with chairman Ralph Krueger, director of football operations Ross Wilson and other members of the Southampton board.

He'll have already used more intelligence learning to spell his own name than Hughes has in his entire managerial career.
