Mousa Dembele

Raises an interesting point - Rose, Alderweireld, Dembele (others?) thinking they were ripe for a big pay day, and a few months later - how likely does it look now?

Im not saying they should have blindly just signed deals with us, or taken whatever offers they had - rather just observing that holding out that extra bit can backfire.

Alderweireld was demanding (allegedly) £180k a week from us, then moved the goal posts. Doesnt look much like a £180k player at the minute, does he? Yes, Im sure Man Utd or alike might stretch to it out of desperation for a defender, but is much less certain.

Dembele had demands beyond Inter and China, do you think theyll be back in for him now?

I think Dembele will get a big money 2 or 3 year contract when leaving on a bosman at the end of this season.

Would be sad to see him go, one of my favourite players in recent times. A fully fit Dembele in full flight is a sight to behold.

11million would be impressive considering he could just sign a contract now with them and see them in 4 months time.
Sad to see him go, but its been coming for some time, feels a bit like King where both sides held on for maybe 1 season too long.

If we can sell Wanyama as well, then use the money to fund (or part fund) the signing of one midfielder, that'd be very good work from Levy.

Their league doesn't start until March either

Confirmed he's available in a cryptic way going by the news today (not seen the press conference), I can't see us letting him go without a replacement lined up.

I'll be sad to see him go, but we've gone all season without him really so to make £11 million would be good business. It's a shame he's leaving under these circumstances, injuries depriving a player of his ability is a sad thing.
