What I don't get is how our fans can be racist to other teams players - considering we must have one of the most ethnically diverse teams in the premier league?

This amazes me across all teams (well apart from Russian teams...)

Our fans are probably no different to most in that we have elements of low-life who watch and support Spurs and can sometimes be racist.
We are not as bad as others (e.g. Chelsea, Millwall, West Ham etc) and there is obviously different forms of racists (colour, religion-based such as anti-semetic etc) but that doesn't make us immune from having low-life watch Spurs.

Mods, can you at least get your acts together and punish this disgusting OMT with the required avatar change.

Hey hey hey, you're not the boss around here, are you? :p this is on me though. Terrible OMT resulting in a terrible result. But surely, pierce Morgan, Donald trump and an Arse Jersey on the same picture? How sadistic are you? I'll take Ray parlour kissing Henry's ass over that any day.

Always very disappointing when it appears they're more up for it than us, and sad to say, that's the way it looked yesterday. Overrun in midfield and hardly able to manage a test of their defence in the second half. What compounded the frustration was the way Pochettino once again sat on his hands until it was too late. Oh, well, we dust ourselves off and go again Wednesday. We had better kill them in the return game though.

I don't want to wait for the return fixture. We meet again in the Carabao Cup QF in a couple of weeks. That's when we need to run riot (metaphorically speaking) over them.

True - I was embarrassed by the amount of infighting I saw between spurs fans at the semi final last season.....we are not immune to scummy lowlife fans....just like to think we were a bit above it.

Anybody would have thought they won the league yesterday
The crap I have had from part time Arsenal fans today is ridiculous
I'm waiting until we go back above them on Wednesday before replying
Come on mate, its no different to how Spurs fans on the whole are when we win a big derby game. We seem to like to think we are a different breed on here, when in reality we are no better or worse as a collelctive than the rest of them....

Yes maybe. Sissoko wasn't too bad but Winks would have retained possession a bit better I think.

It's not singling out Sissoko for being poor, he was not alone in that. But our midfield clearly wasn't working and Winks' ability to keep possession and make us tick was potentially just what we needed.

I don't think racism is worse; it's just that social media and constant access to phones and a vehicle to vent makes it that any racists acts are more out in the open and reported quicker than even ten years ago

Possibly but throwing a banana is just really really weird. Its the kind of really basic thing that you just dont see anymore.
Plenty of racists still about and we arent immune to it in the club, especially racial stereotyping. Plenty of DVD shouts at Young-Pyo at the lane

Not only puts the whole club in a bad light, but also will result in whole of our fan-base both face difficulties pointing out any racist abuse suffered by son or antisemitic.

Would be interested to know if it was a ST holder or somebody who got it from the increasing away ticket grey market. Would be quite happy that the club held any ST holder responsible for that seat and anyone who was in it.

Let them have their moment.

They are unbeaten in 18, playing as well as they have for about 3 years, have been able to rest key players on Europa weeks, still have one of the top 6 to play in the first half of the season (we’ve played them all), had limited WC involvement to recover from, had 8 home games from 14 (we have had 5 and they weren’t even at home), and they’ve still got to come to us.

They couldn’t have got a better opportunity to build a little gap on us.

Yet we are both on 30 points.

It shows how well we’ve done really.

I think racism and xenophobia has been on the rise for a few years, not just in this country but in countries like Murica since Trump and a lot of European countries have seen the rise of a lot of right wing nazi parties gaining power or getting damn close to winning elections. Brexit has only added fuel to the fire in this country. It seemed like society as a whole was becoming more tolerant until about 5 years ago. Immigration is a major issue for lots of nations.

Sorry to derail this thread with social/politicial issues :)
