Hugo Lloris

I still feel he has a big game mistake in him but always happy to give credit where it’s due and he’s been good this season, especially in the last few matches. Yesterday was an example of how difficult it is to be an elite goalkeeper with several flavours of the month making key mistakes. Also he almost put Kane through with a quick kick out!!

Its probably the hardest job in the team to be a keeper, you can make several good saves but make one mistake and then is nowhere to hide. The problem for Lloris this last season or so is he seems to be making more then he used to.

Ftfy

Let's face it our defence is porous at the moment and Hugo is fighting a reargaurd action.

What was he playing at today, big step in the wrong direction before the first then a daisy cutter to his near post for the second.

How many soft ones is he going to get away with.

Don't see what he could have done for any of them, tbh.

First one, Sanchez assigns Sissoko to mark the area that Boly sneaks into. Sissoko fails to do so. Boly gets a free header from close range. Lloris still manages to get a hand to it, but it isn't enough. It's Sissoko's fault, not on Lloris.
Second one, goes through Alderweireld's legs and sneaks into the right corner - Lloris is wrongfooted by the nutmeg on the shot. Happens all the time, to all sorts of keepers.
Third one was just a good goal. Lloris couldn't have done more than he did, which is come out to try and close it down.

If you want to blame anyone, blame every single player who thought the game was done and dusted after going 1-0 up. And they *all* did - fell for their own hype.

Everyone was brick today no question.

The third, it was a goal long before it got anywhere near hugo.

I still think for the first two he’s diving from the wrong place, he should be a step to the right for both of them.

Fair enough, though I disagree. But I do think his major fault is how passive he is as a captain - he really shouldn't be. He doesn't do or say anything when we're clearly failing or folding, and that's just not the mark of a great captain.

He's a *good* captain - no doubt he keeps the team chugging along. But we need a really relentless, dominant one to step up a level.

Wasn’t the second deflected off Toby in the tackle/shot?

The first one is never his fault: unchallenged from what, 6-8 yards out?

He's still first choice -- but it's not as clear cut as it once was, imo. Gazza has some dodgy points to his game but he's made game winning saves when he's played this season. If Hugo doesn't do that with the regularity he once did, then we do have some competition for him at least.

Not saying he should be dropped but he doesn’t look the same - was there things going on behind the scenes that made him drink drive? Or that incident still affecting him in some way? Wouldn’t be worst thing in the world to play Gazza for few games so to see how he deals with consistent PL football and also to deal with Lloris’ questionable form whether it to threaten to displace him, or just fire a rocket up him to get back into form....

He saved everything he needed too vs Bournemouth abd they had 14 shots

What about all the other games? He hasn’t looked himself for a while. I certainly don’t want rid of him, just questioning whether a little break might do him and Gazza both some good. Lloris is still a top keeper for me....

Milo will be posting in a minute to tell you the captain’s big job for the season is done - organising the Christmas party.

Honestly don’t think he makes any more mistakes than any keeper this season

Corner was from zonal marking
2nd goal came through the legs of Toby
Third was the only place he could put it in
