Football and money

There could well be reasonable away support on the continent, but really I think it will be minimal.

They would be rich, but losing games, playing to empty crowds and tourists, and IMHO more and more just to a TV audience.

Who will likely pass on it once the novelty fades.

I really think itll be a disaster!
Yea I agree I think it would be terrible after 3/4 years of exactly the same matches. The CL groups are already dull enough half the time with the same boring match ups each year. Just look at how upset/demoralized Arsenal were by getting trounced by Munich every season. Imagine that on a weekly basis for some of these clubs.

Bloke deserves the money he gets, taken the product from a £1bn deal to £5.5bn, overseas alot more than just sitting there and picking up his money.

The Salary and Bonus for me are both deserved.

I've got no problem with that, but it should come from the company, not a gift from the clubs.

I agree in principle. It’s up to any organisation to decide how to reward its employees. I can’t help think though that he should have been bonused for performance as part of normal remuneration rather than this golden handshake.
From a PR perspective it’s been badly managed.

Daniel is happy though. Cue utrage.

There is a separate stream of “partner” money though, that doesn’t flow too the clubs so cash shouldn’t be flowing the other way.

It’s a bit harsh on the likes of Cardiff, Brighton and West Ham who have barely been in the PL.

Don’t feel too sorry for them they will be getting £90+million from being in epl

Only because the press have managed to grab hold of it and twist it round but ultimately the whole thing is proportionate to what he oversaw in terms of growth. You don’t sit at the top of the biggest league in sport and oversee all that it entails and not earn for it.

He gets paid 2.5 mil a year. How much does he need?
