It's flimflam I know, but the thought of Bale and Kane in the same team makes me moist....

*Begins tossing furiously*

He would take the RWF spot, I imagine, what of Lamela/Moura who seem to have it nailed down?
He would cost a fortune and has proven he WILL NOT be reliably fit.
At 29, given his injury issues to date, its entirely likely this will only get worse.
We need to spend our money far more in CM than on star forward type buys. It is essential we improve in midfield!

As good a player as he is, and as amazing as it would be to see him in full flight for us (a genuine match winner at that) I just cant get my head around the deal in a way that makes me think its worth it.

Unless...

Only way that happens is if Kane moves to Madrid.

Please Levy make me wrong

Bale could absolutely replace Kane. I could see him playing through the centre and being incredible.

That is by no means to say its my preference, at all.

AMs the strongest area in our team at the moment - we have 5 excellent options

If he can stay fit, Bale might be a marginal upgrade for a season one or two.

But would you divert all those resources when we effectively only have 2 CMs left (and 1 currently fit)?

Just thinking out loud here... but didn’t Giggs prove affective more deep/central in his latter years?

I do not want Bale at Spurs. I dont see the value. The old Bale pre-departure to Madrid - yes. The new one! HELL NO!!

Bale is and would be technically superior to Kane - obviously only question mark is his fitness issues. If we were to get Bale and not lose Kane Id be happy to get rid of Son as Bale could cover AM and back up CF position.

Obviously all nonsense but would love Bale and Kane together....

Even if we could offer him a competitive wage that would still shatter our structure and I don’t think we can sink that amount of money into a player who has missed so many games over the last few years. Unfortunately there are too any other clubs who can afford to take that gamble, because you know they don’t actually need to budget because they are cheats.

Honestly, I dont think its clear cut at all Bale is technically superior than Kane. Could be debated for hours - but its far from a given and my inclination is it would be too close to call. Very different players, with different strengths/weaknesses, but IMO neither clearly superior technique wise.

And Son wouldnt be the one to go. He plays predominantly on the left, Bale right. It would be Moura/Lamela compromised.

And, ultimately, Im unconvinced Kane and Bale would be that complimentary together, I wonder if it would or wouldnt work as well as people assume.

Kane is technically as good as any player world wide

Bale IMO isn’t as good as one but has the speed to assist

Bales striking of the ball is superb, Id suggest better than Kanes. Bales strikes the ball clinically, Kane can be scruffy as hell in how he hits it.

However, there is far more to technique than that, isnt there? Hence my saying, different players, different attributes, strengths and weaknesses.

Holistically Id say neither is clearly better than the other.

Fair enough mate. From saying hes technically better that to me is about touch, control, dribbling, how he strikes a ball when shooting etc - I think Bale is superior to Kane but like you say could be debated forever and no ones opinion would be swayed....

I’d say Kane is an amazing striker of the ball hence why he is so a cuare but it’s opinions at the end of the day

Both are world class that’s for sure

Thought I'd post this in here too, as it felt relevant to me. Mods delete if needed.

Which PL full backs would we swap an on-form pairing of Trippier + Davies for?

Shaw? Nah.
Young? Ew.
Mendy? fudge nah.
Walker? fudge off.
Alexander-Arnold? Nah.
Gomez? No ta.
Milner? Haha.
Azpilicueta? Nope.
Alonso? Drive me into a ditch.

We're pretty lucky all-in-all and are spacegoating our FB's unfairly at the moment.

Don't understand how you can still think that Trippier is better than Kyle Walker. He's an integral part of one of the best teams in the world and offers so much more than Trippier.

TAA is an great prospect. He's only 20 and is probably already better than KT. I mean, he didn't look out of place as a 19 year-old in the Champions League final lol. He'd be an incredible get, but there's no way they'd sell to us/he would want to leave.

Not a fan of Alonso, Young, or Shaw, and Mendy seems pretty dodgy.

Gomez is a really good center back. Milner is a CM. Azpi is a class CB in a three who can cover at RB. Don't think they are good comparisons.

I think there are a handful of peak-age FBs that are performing better than Trippier/Davies, but I'd be much more in favor of us bringing in one of the young prospects from England (Sessegnon, Wan Bissaka, or Chilwell) or Tierney from Celtic who have the athletic traits that allow them to defend and attack like Rose and Walker did a few years ago.

I really like what I have seen of Tierney. He has Bale like potential IMO but as with all young players nothing is ever guaranteed. He needs the right coach, right now, and it is not Rogers IMO. I would be delighted if we went for him.
