Was thinking how difficult it must be to be universally popular in today’s game, so tried to come up with 11 current players in an actual team...Cech and Kompany were the shoe ins with extra credit for Cech having played for two scum clubs!

Manager: Sean Dyche

Cech

Baines
Maguire
Kompany
Coleman

Kanté
Mata
Milner

Llallana
Crouch
Rashford

I’d imagine Milner will be the most controversial but I have a lot of respect for him his longevity, playing in multiple positions when asked and for going about his career in a professional and modest way, think he’d be well thought of at every club he’s been at.

Looking forward to every individual being rinsed but maybe hearing about a couple of others I hadn’t thought of! (Left spurs players out because of bias, I can’t believe everyone doesn’t love Harry Kane!)

Milner was the one I thought, oh hang on. The reasons you give are more for respecting him than liking him. I can't dance strongly with any of your choices. David Silva at City seems generally liked.

P.S. Picking Mourinho's XI for the opposition might be more fun.

Other than Crouch they are all clams.

What about Aaron Lennon? It's hard to tell with Spurs players, but I think he is probably liked except by Leeds fans.

Good shout on Silva. I do like Milner he’s taken the boring James Milner parody very well too but was trying to think from a wider perspective than just my own too.

I think Aguero is pretty well liked too. He keeps scoring great goals, plays hard and generally fairly, and I can't recall him being prone to diving. He doesn't seem to get picked week in week out either at City so does even better in my eyes.

Re the Commentators Orgasm 11 mentioned above surely the second name on the sheet after Salah is ...... 'Jack'?

How can you leave Ozil out, I love him, reminds me of all those 30 something blokes I played with on cold wet Sunday mornings, only saw them sprint at final whistle to get changed.

I agree about Oxlaide-Chamberlin and Silva and Cech was great to Ryan Mason when he got injured. I might add Zabaletta. I remember him waving the ref off when BAE was in danger of getting a card.
