Summer 2018 transfer thread

Though his agent said earlier this week:

"Yaya is fit and desperate to prove he's still the best central midfielder in the Premier League," the agent said.

"Ivory Coast will not be in Russia for the World Cup and next season he will be fit, rested and stronger than ever.

"He's happy to accept a one-year deal to stay in England. And if his club are not satisfied with his performances, he will pay back half his wages, or the club can cancel his contract immediately, with no compensation."
That quote was at the end of the WC, either he said it again or rehashing old quotes (not you)

Blackburn Rovers have signed striker Ben Brereton from fellow Championship club Nottingham Forest on an initial loan deal.

The 19-year-old could make his switch to Ewood Park permanent in January for a fee worth up to £7m.

Brereton came through Forest's academy and scored nine goals in 57 appearances for the club after making his first team debut in January 2017.

The England Under-19 international has not featured so far this season.

"The price, for me, is really irrelevant. I'm just trying to add the right quality to our team that is going to help us be more exciting and more offensive," Rovers head coach Tony Mowbray told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"I'm very conscious of not over-playing him. He's a young guy with lots of attributes.

"The money has always been there. There are three of four deals for similar amounts of money that did not quite come off for us. The owners are trying to take the club in the right direction in a sensible manner."

A little surprised with this one. Looks a real prospect, Forrest being short sighted or the player just isnt stepping up?

One of those I thought we might have an eye on

Looked impressive to me when I've seen him play.

The little Ive seen of him, he is Kane-lite in style.

I would have thought we might have an eye on him as understudy. Lets be honest, buying senior/relatively senior players for the position hasnt worked.

I suppose at Blackburn he'll get games and time to develop - we can always buy him from then if he works out!

*Jansen was a fixer upper that also didn't work, Kane is a vampire.

Dembele (Celtic) is being linked with a move away, knees permitting we were interested in him previously.

Seems to be way too injury prone to be worth getting. Didn't he also have a heart condition?

Lyon bound, I believe.

Janssen was "more" senior, and I think just couldnt hack it.

I would hope a younger, more junior player, looking to step up and push on might stand a chance.

All ifs and buts of course. Kane is such a freak I suspect we will never get proper cover for him, and I feel for whoever has to replace him when he does eventually move on/retire.

Kane is a unique player, I don't believe there is an other player of his type in the game at the moment.

He is one of the best passers of a ball I’ve seen in a long while.

yeah he stirkes it low and purposeful, easy to read, easy to control despite the pace and you'd know exactly how to receive and and what to do next. just shows what a brilliant football brain he has up there
