Summer 2018 transfer thread

Obviously, no way to know if it's true, but fudgekkkkk, this would have been a great signing. Would have been a perfect fit for the Kane back-up/flexible support striker role. Can't think of any realistic, affordable player in the Prem who I would have been more excited to play that role than Tammy. Hopefully, this is something we revisit in the summer after he either wastes a season on C**lsea's bench or out on loan in the Championship.

Meh. Plays like a new born giraffe from what I've seen.

Then you haven't seen him much. Absolutely destroyed the Championship as a 20 year-old, and did a very good job with no service at Swansea last season and rightfully won his first England caps this season. By far the best young striker prospect in the country, but we get to watch Fernando Llorente lumber around up front instead....

I can tell you from what I have seen I am not impressed. He looks totally uncoordinated to my eyes and frankly, if he is the best striker prospect in the country then that doesn't bode too well. I will give you that I didn't see him play in the championship but his premiership outings were nothing special. Maybe I saw all his bad games.

Not sure what relevance Llorente has with this.

In the prem he look clumsy and unaware of his surroundings for me

He did do well in the championship but he was up against slower defenders IMO

You're entitled to your opinion, but every time I've seen him I've been super impressed. He's so good at getting into goalscoring positions and was consistently let down by poor service and lack of support in a truly awful Swansea side. For comparison's sake, Rashford only had two more goals than him in about 100 more minutes in a much much better side. His xG per 90 were the same or better than guys like Martial, Firmino, and Arnautovic. And he's only 20!

Also, I brought up Llorente because he is playing the role that Abraham would if he'd signed.

Abraham looked great playing against us, but then went off the boil. Saw him in other games where we wasn't as sharp. Very fast, tenacious, can finish...definate potential. Chelsea wouldn't sell to us.

When is his contract up?

The policy of All chelsea youngsters should be at 17 or 18 years old, sign the contract they offer for inflated wages. Then get as many season long loans as possible, whilst running down the contract and leave on a free a few years later, to properly begin your career.

Or if your really clever at 17 you approach Spurs.

They'll be room, with enough dumbass kids this summer flushing their careers away for money, ala the gimps who went to Lyon and Germany.

Poch was lamenting the early transfer deadline, but now I think he'd probably have a different perspective. That he and we've been able to focus on our games and not some speculative transfer merry-go-round has been refreshing.

We only need to make key signings. Targeted quality and the odd youth prospect. It was fun when Levy used to wheel and deal, that we're not anymore shows a new stage at Spurs. Hopefully we'll continue with less whole sale changes and more controlled incremental improvment from now on.
