Are we though? Wide forwards at the club are Son, Moura and Pamela. (I did put Lamela but it autocorrected it and I like it [emoji28] )

Deleb and Eriksen both nominally play there at times, but honeslty both are central players.

Another WF is required imo

Zaha signed a new deal when he didn't move last year, so it's long.

Palace ITK say Palace want him to sign another new deal as they want to remove something from this now, assumed to be a buyout clause of £45m

I don't believe it, were that the case we would have just bought him already, and if not I suspect it would have come out

We have N'Koudou and Sissoko who can play wide too, Zaha isn't a definite upgrade on either, if the fee was realistic then maybe its worth a go, 70m for a player no better than bang average, not for me.

Clearly your bias against Zaha is clouding your view.

Sissoko has been nothing short of useless in any attacking capacity, he is not a wide forward whatsoever.
And Zaha isnt a definite upgrade on N'Koudou? Are you trolling?

Obviously Im a fan of Zaha, I like him - but my point has been consistent through the window in that we need another WF. Ive made the same argument for Martial in his thread as well.

I get it, you dont like Zaha and you dont think £70m is a good price for him* - thats fine, but not an upgrade on Sissoko or NKoudou!? :eek:



*Im not sure anyone thinks £70m is a good price for him. I guess some can find justification for it, others not. Personally I think it shows just how mental the market is. Its obscene. I also think I like the player, and I think he will improve us, so if Levy pays then it must be ok. Big "if" of course.
 
If we signed Zaha then he would have to go out on loan to the Championship for a season so we would see no benefit til next year................................................

I was someone who defended Sissoko last season, I think hes ok. But to suggest Zaha isnt an upgrade on Sissoko is nothing short of ridiculous....

Middlesbrough have launched an ambitious move for Evertonwinger Yannick Bolasie, Sky Sports News understands.

The 29-year-old is surplus to requirements at Goodison Park and is available for around £15m, despite joining the Toffees two years ago for £26m.

Boro boss Tony Pulis knows Bolasie from his time as manager of Crystal Palace.

We understand the DR Congo international is also interesting former club Palace and Burnley, but Boro have money to spend after selling Ben Gibson and Patrick Bamford for a combined £25m this week.



I think the most shocking thing to me here is that Bolasie is 29!

That said, tenuous obviously, but he would fill a Zaha shaped hole for Palace wouldnt he? (in style at least).

His injury has removed his pace (and his age) so no I don't think he would- think Everton will be lucky to get 15M, I expect him to go on a loan somewhere.

Was it that bad? I thought he was fully fit now, but never likely to be a Fat Sam player. Now Silva has his own ideas?

It was tenuous in the first place, but I just figured he would fill a tricky winger void should Zaha be sold.

yes it was that bad and he is brainless so I don't think he can compensate for the lack of pace.

* with the pace he was strangely effective - I was on board when we were linked to him

Apples and Oranges.

Sissoko has become a utility player for us, someone who can transition from attack to defence when needed and vice versa.

Zaha however is a completely different player for me. He can hug the wide areas, play close to Kane, or play right up top if needed.

Of course theyre different players, but in terms of quality Zaha is an upgrade on Sissoko....

I always thought he was a bit of a Wanchope, kind of brainless but somehow effective as you say - and for that reason was never on board!

Ah well, was just a thought on the back of the linked article.

I'll give him credit for that. Sissoko is world class at transitioning our attacks into defence.
