Modric?

How about this. £50mill and we promise to name it the “Real Madrid are better than Barca Stadium” :p

I think we basically need to wait until Real find a new shiny toy to replace him with, damn Luka for quietly going about his business and proving how good he still is at the WC. I’d take an option on him now for a year or even 2 years time given his game isn’t based on his physical attributes and what a rare talent he has. So about that special relationship...

They have Kovavecic but Modric is a far better player and doesn't seem to be slowing down, I'm sure he has 2/3 more seasons left at the top level i.e. Real based on the world cup.

The special relationship gets us a 15% discount in the club shop.

Kovacevic won't like reading modders will be around for a while longer. Cheeky bid?

I think there is something here personally...don't Real need a CB too? They have basically said Luka is available. Would make sense as to why a trigger pull for Cook or Grealish has not yet happened. I wonder...

I will put this here too, as a new thread would start something, but do we think that maybe there could be something in Rakitic? Barca need a CB, they just got Vidal? Wild one I know but I think something is brewing out of the spotlight (glass half-full, etc, etc)...

Barca bought Lenglet this summer at CB for 35m so I think they're fine at the back with Pique, Umitti and Vermaelen. Also Mina if they don't sell him.

That's the one I think could head to Man U? Maybe it doesn't make sense.

They would still have 3 top level ones albeit Pique is getting older plus Vermaelen as backup. I'm sure the have someone from the youth team they can get in as 5th choice if required.

Bale and Modders...can,t believe these two great players played for us...

What would we have to offer for the two?

We're talking about Daniel Levy here, so I predict we'd start at something like 15mil upfront, rising to maybe 40 with add-ons. With a 'thank you' from Madrid written in to the paperwork.

Luka Modric was named player of the tournament at the World Cup
Real Madrid have reported Inter Milan to Fifa over an alleged illegal approach for midfielder Luka Modric.

The 32-year-old Croat, who captained his country to the World Cup final and was named player of the tournament, has been linked with a move to Serie A.

Real president Florentino Perez said earlier this month the only way Modric would leave was if his 750 million euro (£671m) release clause was met.

The Spanish giants sold Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus for £99.2m.

The transfer window in Italy closes on Friday at 19:00 BST.

Modric joined Real from Tottenham in 2012 and has won La Liga once and the Champions League four times.

Inter are back in the Champions League for the first time since 2011-12.

Pot, kettle?

Apparently the Inter move is a six year deal with three of them being in China (Inter owned by Chinese) and is crazy money for the six years. I am guessing it is a way to get over the foreign player tax in china as they will be loaned.

Modric was offered a gentleman's agreement that he could leave if over a given value - sucks for people not to live up to their obligations doesn't it Luka.
