American politics

The Supreme Court doesn't pardon, the president does. He can already pardon his crimes.

Not if the indictments come at state level.

He keeps pardoning all kinds of scum, no doubt this can be seen as softening the public before pardoning his immediate family and associates.

If it comes to that, President Pence will probably pardon him, like Ford pardoned Nixon.
It appears to be a long-standing tradition. The president pardons some useful friends on the way out and his replacement pardons him if needed. That's not a boat anybody wants to rock because it keeps them all safe from prosecution and allows them to make friends for when they're out of a job.

In which case it would be a governor that would pardon. Although I can't see a state bringing a case when they have a Trump-friendly Governor in place.

You are right about that. I mis-wrote. The Supreme Court with the composition it will have with Kavanagh can, and probably will, uphold challenges to Trump decisions. Plus, despite being an enthusiastic supporter of Clinton’s impeachment, Kavanagh now does not believe that sitting Presidents can be charged with crimes. It is a disaster for what passed for democracy in America.

Another reason why Trump might like Kavanaugh is that he has expressed views on the President's immunity from prosecution or even investigation while in office.

Kavanaugh has some involvement in the investigations of Clinton (he might have worked for Ken Starr). Kind of strange that he wants to defer investigation while the president is in office, while claiming the right remedy is through impeachment, as how can you have impeachment without an investigation and evidence?

Sitting here watching the documentary "The fourth Estate" about NY Times, and their coverage of Trump. Highly recommend to watch it! It's brilliant!
There's some serious dangerous and batbrick crazy stuff going on in the white house and movements outside!

I love abit of Trump me, leadership comes in lots of forms, been so utterly diabolical leaders in many countries that talked well etc.

T_May is much worse a leader than Trump for a load of reasons.

Depends on your definition of worse - if you mean less effective then you're spot on, not sure I agree when you compare who has done the greater damage.

Fecktard recanted [emoji23] May has bigger gonads..

It's the Putin playbook. Make contradictory statements so that people do not know what to believe. His supporters will take what they want from both statements. Everyone else gets confused and tunes out, giving him more space to get away with more.
