Kieran Trippier

It's a shame because I think Aurier has potential if he can learn to be more measured. But Trippier has clearly outperformed him - to my surprise.
He's definitely gone up a level in this WC, especially defensively and from set pieces, but otherwise we are seeing what we've come to expect from him in a Tottenham shirt since April 2017.

And to think that some posters were suggesting he should be sold as recent as the beginning of the season.... Crazy! He is ten times the player that Aurier is...

Who else from Spurs can make it? Kane surely, if he ends up top scorer. Jan/Toby if Belgium makes the final? Hugo if France does - or has Pickford/the croatian bloke been better?

Some decent cbs, Mina (Colombia), Godin(Uruguay) Thiago Silva (Brazil) Stones and Maguire competing with verts and toby for the team of the tournament.

Pickford and Hugo are nose to nose, Pickford has had more to do and his distribution has been really good.

Kane and Trippier are shoe-ins.

Dele Is not in the conversation - yet.

You can bet FIFA's team of the tournament will be based largely on players that shine in the final, especially any from the winning side. Others that did well in earlier rounds will largely be forgotten.

Dele would have to have one hell of a semi final to make that list, probably winning the match and the final by himself and then only just.

Off the top of my head Pogba, Cheryshev, Modric, Rakitic, Coutinho, de Bruyne and probably Witsel are all in ahead of him.
