Interesting England vids

There are a couple on there about similar issues where Lampard, Rio and Gerrard are quite candid about their time with the England squad.

Very open and honest about how they felt that the system they were forced into wasn't right for the players and how the club divides were too big of a problem. That last issue they speak about more in this one;

The national team for a lot of players from South America etc is going home from their leagues abroad. For the England lads it was about going away to spend time around people they regarded as enemies most of the year.

Rewriting history imo.

Nobody mentioned this problem at the time, and thinking back to 2002 Lampard, Rio, Beckham, Scholes etc. certainly came across as buddies.

Reckon its BS that just sounds better than saying they were brick.

Collins says, "If you describe a phrase as an oxymoron, you mean that what it refers to combines two opposite qualities or ideas and therefore seems impossible."

I don't agree because it was obvious from all sides that Scholes as the best midfielder we had since Gazza was being used poorly.

I can believe it. I think most people felt that the 442 Sven had us playing wasn't best suited to our players.

Indeed, and overated as well.

Hated that era of English football - Lampard and Rio & co. can fudging do one afaic, shouldn't even have the wasters on punditry duty.

Managerial issues. Good managers make the big calls. I love Eric Dier, so does Southgate yet Eric is not a starter because Southgate has a team shape he wants. Yet he has managed to keep Eric well onside! Great management. Why couldn’t any of our managers have found the courage to do similar in major tournaments?
