Grealish

I do not think you appreciate how ridiculous that comment is. You think Son does not beat people with skill?????

I have no words
As P.D said he creates room well for a shot, and sure you can argue that in itself is a skill. But he doesn’t tend to actually go round players beating them with pure skill/dribbling ability which which Grealish does....

For a championship player to be worth 40m I’d expect them to have been the star performer for the team that won it, he’s a bit part player for a team eliminated in the play offs.
This sort of comment just shows how little some know about the player yet happily make throw away comments. A bit part player? He’s their star player, he missed 15 games at start of the season for a freak injury that should have been life threatening. He’s very much their main man who they look to for creativity....

i wish Poch had played Moura a lpt moora last season instead of trying to keep certain other players happy.
Greylish!? lookes like smallsea will buy him, not because they need him but because stopping us from getting him.
Anyway...it,s not a bad time to be a Spurs fan, is it..............:D

Grealish lol would be good but,,,
we need a replacement for toby as our defence was wobbling all over the place at times last Season.

So who are we looking to bring in there?
Maybe Foyle can step up to the mark!

I mean Foyth FGS I,m getting old, it would be nice to win the Prem for my bucket list..lol

£40m would be crazy imo. That’s nearly half of what people are saying Bale would go for.

Even £20m is risky.

I liked Grealish when he was really on form for a few months in the prem. But not sure he’s shown enough consistency, fitness or desire for that money.

<£20m do it. Otherwise he can sit next to Ross Barkley for the next couple years.

Im of a similar mind. I think at the 30-40 reported Im really not that interested, but at 20? Well worth a punt.

He is a very talented player, but there are plenty of (reasonable) doubts about him.

Modric doesnt get many assists either - 1 goal and 6 assists in the League this season playing for Real Madrid. You clearly havent watched him much at all if all youre going by is those stats. He constantly picks the ball up deep so hes hardly going to be an assist king......

The Second Division (I don't hold with these new-fangled names) is widely acknowledged to be a very tough league as well. I think it's quite hard to judge a player (especially one like him) until he's been given a shot in a side surrounded by complementary players of sufficient quality. Like all these things, it could be a risk, which I guess is how good scouts earn their dough.

MORE ON GREALISH

Tottenham have offered Aston Villa £15m for their highly-rated midfielder Jack Grealish.

The north London club has been one of a number of top clubs who have scouted the England U21 international, who continues to attract interest after an impressive season in the EFL Championship.

Villa value their prized asset at closer to double that figure – and could be more interested in a bid from Chelsea - especially as it’s likely to see the 22-year old loaned back to the Championship club for next season.

However, despite their precarious financial state, senior sources at the club believe they may not be forced to sell their star academy graduate.

The midfielder was not among Spurs' original list of transfer targets but has emerged as a potential signing due to Villa's financial difficulties. Fulham and Leicester are also keen on Grealish.

I think I want him, but I find the story of Chelsea wanting him too quite funny, and an example of how far they've fallen. I get the impression that for us, it's kind of like a 'well if we must, considering your financial difficulties' where as for Chelsea, they are really making a conscious effort to move on to our turf of signing young English players with potential.

I feel like we may lose a few of these deals to Chelsea now, which will be fine by me if we end up signing the world stars ourselves. And if we start winning trophies while they start bottling it due to their lack of experience. Hopefully Grealish views the chance to work with Poch, and compete in the CL, vs to work with absolutely no-one at Chelsea, as an opportunity he can't pass up. But if not, it won't be the end of the world.

Just funny to me, a few years ago Chelsea taking a punt on a young player from the Championship with documented attitude problems would not have been on their radar at all. And now it is. Ha.

At that price he's worth a punt

Essentially he is the sort of player we have built our club on, young, talented, high potential, decent fee (often from the Championship!)...

Theres just something about him I hold doubts about, has hardly been the most professional player so far (and yes, I know, has behaved this last year).

I guess if any manager can make the most of him its Poch, so £15m seems like a great punt to me.

More than that and I begin to wonder if he offers value.

For me it’ll be a totally underwhelming signing, but I’m happy to be convinced. I did watch him in the play-off final and he seemed brick - easily shrugged off the ball and poor decision making.

Onomah definitely looked the better player in that match

No he didn’t Grealish was one of best players on the pitch, talk about agendas.

For a bit of unbiased assessment I checked on whoscored for stats, Onomah got 6.25 and Grealish got 8.65 and star player....
