Ryan Mason

By the way, people are gushing about the Mason interview, saying it is the best ever ever ever and he is so wonderful and erudite and inspirational and OMG hopefully he will stay at Spurs forever etc.
I guess a lot of this is because of sentiment, he was at Spurs since a boy, didn't particularly want* to leave, got injured and was clinically dead for a while.
Because I don't think it is due to his actual comments, insight, delivery etc? I was quite disappointed, from the hype I expected a lot more from the interview, I found the Spurs Show podcasts with Mullery and various others much more interesting.

*He did phone his agent 2 days before the window shut and said it doesn't feel right and he wanted to leave, "find me a club", as he wanted to play #10 rather than #8 so... he went to Hull... played a couple of games at 10 and then was shunted to defensive midfield :D

Well I’ve never heard a player talk about dying and having an out of body experience

Well, he's our new coach for now. And I for one bloody welcome the appointment.

Enough misery - time for bravery.

I hope and pray that he can inspire the team to just go out there and play against City - nothing to lose, just give it your all, lads, and enjoy the game.

Welcome to the job, Ryan lad. You know half this team from your playing days - settling in won't be an issue.

Do your best.

The only thing I can say is that he comes across well and have heard him pick apart starting line ups on TV and Radio ... hopefully he can do what Poch did and clear out the bad apples and replace with young hungry players ready and willing to put in a shift and play for the shirt.

Interesting that Ryan has been preferred to King. Yeah he's one of our own and a thoroughly decent bloke, but ... hasn't exactly covered himself in glory with the youth teams, has he.

Ledley's the first team defensive coach, isn't he? If so, hasn't exactly covered himself in glory, either.

Plus perhaps it's about badges.
