OMT The Mighty THFC vs Abu Dhabi City

Not gonna happen but this would be my team:

...............Lloris..................

Trippier....Toby....Sanchez.....Verts...Rose

.....Wanyama......Dembele.........

.........Dele..........Eriksen........

...............Kane................

They bossed a lot of that game, they won’t even be physically tired they had so much of the play. Mentally might of taken a bit out of them, but they’ve lost three on the bounce haven’t they? I just don’t see them making it four....

I do. We should be well up for this game and they will be mentally drained. Kane needs to rediscover his pre-injury form if he is to get anywhere near a Golden Boot this year. It is a great opportunity for us to give it to them large and get some revenge for our non-performance at the Etihad.

Confusios say :"3-1. Sorted".

Confucius really say "You are what you think". I think we will win.

This is a bonus match for me. Anything we get is something I didn't think we'd get a few weeks ago.

Walker is the weak link. Need to pile the pressure on him.

If we are lucky enough to en joy Otemendi, that whole area will be a massive soft zone.

Regardless of Toby's eventual destination, if he is training well I'd be tempted to go three at the back with Toby Davo Verts...I think if Tripps and Davies press high and hard, it might well happen. Dier will have to have a mighty game, ditto Dembele, as that high press will put a lot of responsibility on them to close off the pockets in and around the top of the box. If Guardiola plays Aguero, those pockets will be very very troublesome. Sterling isn't smart enough to play them properly...Aguero is a master.

p.s. whoever called for Rose to start over Ben in this one might be onto something. If Rose and Alderweireld got the nods, they would bust a gut to play their way into SF.

Guardiola defended a policy that has seen him spend some £450 million since becoming manager in 2016, but indicated that more would be needed.

"It is impossible to do that, to play the way we play, the results we achieved, without top players. It's impossible," he said.

"And today, the top players cost a lot of money. When you say: 'Pep, what you have done in Barcelona or Bayern Munich, is it possible to do that without those big players?' -- it's impossible, so be calm.

"We need money to buy and to play in that level all the time. Only I would say that all the teams around the world -- maybe in two years we spent more -- but over an average of five or 10 years a lot of teams spend a lot of money.

"To achieve these results you need this investment. If not you need miracles, and I am not able to do that."

Fixed it for him: "To achieve these results you need this investment. If not you need Pochettino, and I am not able to do that."

On the weekend City should have had a penalty when Ashley Young tried to break Aguero's leg. If/when they score the penalty, the game is entirely different.

20 minutes ago City should have had a goal when Sane was incorrectly ruled offside as the ball bounced from Milner's knee to Sane. With that goal it is 2-0 before half time and Liverpool are panicking and the game is entirely different.

We need some sort of video assistant referee system, someone should trial it in some league somewhere.

They are a damn impressive team and referees have done them in the last couple of games... that won't happen against Spurs.

Disagree mate. Difference between great teams and good teams is taking your chances. City had enough chances in all three games that they wouldn't have to rely on luck/ref.

City should have done enough in their last two games, but Sterling was complete and absolute brick, the guy had more chances than all of united put together. Same as if Diouf was a better player Stoke would have got a point against us (he's not, that's why they are there). The real question is why didn't Pep drag Sterling off at half time against United and why the fudge did he play him against Pool.

Start like we did against Stoke and we will fail!

Yep, people talking about pressing, we just need to control game for first 35 minutes, not do anything stupid, make them work hard. They will try to come out hard.

Last 30 minutes of game, they will be tired, 3 huge games that they lost will tell physically/mentally.

Yes, their defense is an absolute shambles. I mean, it's only the best defense in the league.

Because teams are too frightened to attack them and because they keep the ball for 75% of the time every game. They've folded like a deck of cards recently when teams have gritted their teeth against them and attacked them. There's no way Poch will send us out to sit back at home.

Same argument could be true of Liverpools defense tbf

I don't disagree. If you listen to people on here Liverpool's defence is championship standard whereas the truth is it's somewhere in between and is better than people give them credit for. We have a better defence than them hands down but Liverpool are public enemy number 1 on here so don't expect anyone to give them any credit. It's definitely a lot of GG posters cup finals when we play them home and away. The last OMT when we played them had something like 65 pages worth of comments!

Point being that you were talking up Liverpools defense the other day and yet they're pretty similar to City in that they can look amateur when teams get at them, they certainly have a worse defense than City in regards to chances/goals conceded and yet you're calling the better defense a shambles whilst talking up the lesser of the two...

I can't be bothered to get in a debate about this. The fact is Emirates Marketing Project's defenders are not as good as their records suggests. Liverpool's are not as bad as people make out on here. But both are vulnerable when you attack them which I think we will do on Saturday.

Im sure we will - Poch has the team believing in itself and it's own gameplan and i expect to see us take the game to them from the beginning and get a good win.
