Transfer window thread?

Can think of a few games recently he’s won them points. Something that seems beyond our collection of back up strikers recently!!

I’m a fan of Giroud, in as much as I think Arsenal fans are stupid to want rid.

It might be like Defoe, highlights on match of the day don’t show the selfish/frustrating play

Gooner friend of mine is a big fan of his. Loves his work rate, holding play and general unselfishness that means all the others can play off of him and look good. And, of course, he comes up with goals as well.

I suspect he is a really under rated player and they will actually miss him.

He has been pushed out by Iwobi and Lacazette already, neither of which have done much - and neither have Arsenal.

Auba coming in will mix it up some more, but I dont know if he brings others into play enough to improve them as a unit.

No he isn’t a selfish player and he is a very good one

Maybe your right about him scoring winners but I can’t remember any of late

Can’t argue with that

He is a good player but just not a great player, if you want to challenge for the PL ( which should be their aim) you could not have him as your #1, he just cant be the main man consistently enough.

I think he will be in the Chelsea first team before long, giving Morata a rest - I understand why they sold him (to facilitate the Auba move) I just cant believe they helped out a team who they are challenging for 4th, and they really did let Chelsea out of a hole.

I think it could be argued their aim is simply top 4 and has been for a long time. In which case he is perfectly adequate.

As I said, his role isnt even as pure goalscorer, it is (was?) to provide the platform for the like of Ozil and Sanchez to do the business.

As a goalscorer Auba is an upgrade, for sure. As a "player" I really dont know, we'll have to see I guess. He seems to me the sort that needs to be fed, played too, rather than plays as part of the unit. Which in turn will mean a shift in system/dynamic for Arsenal. And that will be in conjunction with coping with an imbalance in their squad as well. So interesting times I guess.

Giroud will be a big upgrade for Chelsea, he is exactly the sort of player they need. Even if he doesnt score much dont be at all surprised to see Hazard and Pedro start to find form.

Who have arsenal sold for that money?
Walcott was £18m and was Giroud

Am I missing someone?

Szczesny (£10m)

Debuchy (£0) - Gabriel (£10m) - Gibbs (£7m)

Walcott (£20m) - Coquelin (£12m) - Toral (£3m) - Ox (£35m)

Sanogo (£0) - Giroud (£18m) - Sanchez (Miki)

Taken from elsewhere - seems this new fella they appointed behind the scenes is clearing out all of Wengers dross, the old man will probably be next
