    The "DM" thread

I have to say I feel this Romero to DM chat is a little misguided; to excel in this role, you have to be good at receiving the ball with your back to goal, being good on the half turn, and I think his strengths on the ball are more with the pitch ahead of him and moving vertically.

Potentially a decent time to play them, new manager and all.

    The "DM" thread

Last thing on the smarts piece - he managed to average 82 mins per appearance, which again, to me, suggests he knows how to manage being on a booking. But I definitely can see age + fee (+ above limitations) make him probably a suboptimal fit for us. Just trying round out the picture on him.

    The "DM" thread

It’s what Wikipedia tells me! I was similarly nervous before I checked recently, but what the figures suggest to me is that he has the intelligence to manage playing on the edge. I’m not sure he’s good enough on the ball for what we’re looking for - Gray is probably more suited to the...

Does he? I’d challenge you on that pal. Played 35 and 33 league games in the two years at Fulham. More than Biss has managed for us!

    Brandon Austin

Not sure this fella has his own thread, but here you go buddy: https://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/2024/may/new-contract-for-austin/ That’s 3rd choice GK sorted for the foreseeable! And surely spells the end of Alfie Whiteman.

    Timo Werner

Yes, I wouldn’t want £15m spent on him when it should be going on a CF or 6 as a priority, especially if a loan is possible. A decent stop gap for 12 months, potentially good business all round.

    Timo Werner

I’d take that, as back up to Son, with a new number 9 coming in.

I missed the end. Anything specific happen or just overall performance draw you to that conclusion?

Is Gascoigne Going to Have a Crack? 90s Spurs book (15th April 2024)

I was going to send a personal message on this, as I finished reading it a couple of weeks ago, but a public endorsement is probably of more use to the author. This was absolutely FANTASTIC. I felt transported to my childhood, as I am but two years younger than the author, and it called to mind...

    Daniel Levy - Chairman

Completely respect this view and those that hold it. I just felt we had no chance with him in charge based on what I felt I’d seen get progressively worse in the weeks leading up to the final.

    Daniel Levy - Chairman

My view, I remember clearly at the time and based on the last few posts seems the minority, was we had NO chance with Mourinho in charge, one off game ‘specialist’ or not. The players had literally stopped playing for him. With Mason, for me, we had a puncher’s chance on the basis that the...

Yep, we defo missed a trick on Wharton. I really hope we can start picking off the really talented, HUNGRY, Championship players soon. We’ve missed so many.

    Dejan Kulusevski

Doesn’t fit in the system at RW and think the money could be spent on bringing someone in who does, if we’re backing Ange. I don’t really rate him as a 10 either.

*** Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea OMT ***

There was a close shot on his face walking out after half time - before the huddle - he looked absolutely fudged, even after 15 mins break. Something going on there, looks like he’s running in treacle.

Sounds ridiculous to say but has Ange lost the players?

    The transfer thread

I think putting him back into his proper position would see us through another season if we have limited funds. I think if it’s a choice of Son / Richy at 9 and a new LWF vs Gimenez / another CF and Son / Werner at LWF, I think the latter is a better option.
