Frank mentions that he loves the fact the fans want to meet earlier and make a lot of noise, and that he showed that to the players just now. Therefore Billie T, ROTS, CFT et al will grow 6 inches in all directions. All directions.

I don't know enough about how Cheatski will line up. But Frank is adaptable and might try to match them up, or negate some specific threat. Agree that Porro/Spence are likely our only width, so if they push forwards then we will be open at the back out wide, but perhaps we don't mind that if...

    25/26 Injury and illness thread

He got over that and was training well, then got a quad injury. YESSSSSSSSSSSS I know you love to tell us that plantar fasciitis can last for years and blah blah blah. We know that.

I think the "judgement" of Thomas Frank will dictate how we progress in coming years. If he judges correctly (IMO) that several players are simply never going to be good enough for a top3 team, he needs to totally bomb them out with no messing, and replace. If he judges they might come good, or...

    Yang Min-Hyeok

I watched a good chunk of the first half today of Pompey vs Birmingham. Pompey are quite neat but slow in build up and always, always go to the right. Yang was on for a pass lots of times but they just completely ignore him and go right. Then after 20 passes they get some clogger to cross the...

When we're inevitably losing due to some freak bolt of lightning hitting Vicario's knee, we can bring on Xavi Richie Tel Odobert to save the day

    João Palhinha

I'm suspicious of that chart. Rovella might have been doing more defensive actions because Lazio are a bit brick, compared to Juve, Inter etc. And Mkhitaryan is 36. And McTominay has 2 goals and an assist yet is almost last on offensive actions, so I think the chart is misleading.

Agree, but bear in mind Danso might have several small niggles as well e.g. a tight hamstring, a sidestrain, a sore knee that blows up after each game, a hairline fracture in his penis. None of the players will be 100% fit if they've been playing a load of recent games, they will all have a...

Agree, he could go back to Forest and play on the break and do really well at that one skill.

    Kota Takai

Dammit, for me this thread opened on the tweet from a month ago, saying: Thomas Frank on Kota Takai: "Kota is better and better. He has trained fully with the team for a week to 10 days." So I thought he was over the foot injury and coming back. Apparently it is a quad issue this time, right? I...

    João Palhinha

Hang on, you started out by saying "Paulinha's expansive forward running comes at a cost and will give coaches a headache because of the gaps he leaves behind." I queried whether Palhinha charges forwards and leaves gaps behind him. Now you are changing that to "Palhinha is a very classical...

    Kevin Danso

I guess that is all part of being a CB. As the older and wiser player, Danso should have trod on his foot, pinched his spine, pulled his shorts down, bit him on the belly button and pulled his curly perm, way before Woltemade had chance to put his hand on his shoulder.

I know what you're saying and part of me wants to agree with you... yet I also saw Andy Cole at the side of the pitch, and he was a really poor player in terms of general football skill, but also a top scorer. Ditto Inzaghi, he would be offside 9 times per match, hopeless at link up play, but...

    Radu Drăgușin

If you scroll up a bit, there is video of Dragu training with the first team on 8Sep. Even if it was 'no contact' that is still a long time ago, almost 2 months. Would be nice if he and Takai actually played some football at some point.

    Kevin Danso

Tonight, for the second goal, Danso should have leapt into Woltemade's body/face/legs/arse and put him off, rather than stepping away. I believe Kinsky must have called for it, since Danso didn't challenge at all, but he still should have leapt at Woltemade and made life difficult. As a CB you...
