I agree mate, I really like the album. Mos Def, for me, is one of the best out there. I love his album The New Danger, as well. In case you haven't got it, here's a link:
http://rs427.rapidshare.com/files/221509298/Mos_Danger.rar
Personally, my favourite album is his collab with Hi-Tek & Talib Kweli, Black Star. Amazing album. Here's a link to that also

Also, slightly off-topic, but still within the refines of this thread, Uncle L is back with a blinder!

that whole album is quality - definitely in the top 5 Hip Hop albums. stand out tracks for me are : but the best is
haven't listened much to his new album, Mos Def that is, nor The New Danger. Black On Both Sides is my favourite hip hop cd and and its gonna be hard for them to live up to it.

If you download any of the albums from that list go with the Amtosphere one. How big is he in the UK? He's one of my favorites and puts on an absolutely triffic live show.

Billyiddo:
what the hell is back pack hip hop ?
never heard the term before Sir K started the old thread
Something you and Sir K clearly seem to be . It's basically hip-hop fans that follow strictly underground hip-hop. as opposed to mainstream hip-hop. The type that get excited when a necro song comes on but turn their noses at anything mainstream. Conscience rappers like Nas and Mos def may get a pass though.

Dunno. I like Eminem. I like certain 50 Cent tracks. I like 2Pac, Biggie, Snoops old material. Some "mainstream", or widely appreciated hip hop is ok. I like a couple of Chamillionaire tracks too. Alot of the mainstream is fucking shit though.

nw7 yid: kingdawson:It's basically hip-hop fans that follow strictly underground hip-hop. as opposed to mainstream hip-hop.
There's a big difference between people who turn their noses up at maintream hip hop simply because it's mainstream, and people who turn their noses up at mainstream because they genuinely believe that it's shit.
indeed, thats where i fall - tho i may be wrong ! I'll be the first to admit i can sometimes be pretty pretentious when it comes to music (especially hip hop) but the bottom line is if i think it's good then i'll listen to it regardless of whether its underground or mainstream. there's just so much shit awful music that gets promoted in the mainstream that i will end up writing off artists because their common knowledge.
