i was thinkking something the other day....if arshavin goes to somewhere like everton or newcastle for like 5 to 10 million (factoring in the age, his sponsorship, the club he plays for and th region he plays , not to mention marketing / markatability), and i we go out there and but someone like benltly for 10 to 15 million then i would be livid.

having said that i think arshavin will be pushed about for 12 million but the actual transfer price will come down

bentley does have the edge in that he is a succesful prem player, i just dont think he is a ramos player

his buyout clause is 10 million pounds............so that is the minimum anyone will have to pay

if Modric went for 16 million, then im sure Zenit will try to create some kind of auction to get near that same sum for Arshavin

id pay 16 million for him, hell yes.............a world class player at the peak of his powers 

There will be a number of 'Big Boys' looking at him and price will go alot higher (first I've heard of buy-out clause and would doubt it), and its not off the back of one tournament as he had an excellent year at Zenit last year resulting in them winning the UEFA Cup.

He is currently contracted to December 2010 so I guess Zenit will be looking to either tie him up on an improved deal or sell but as much as we'd like him here he will be CL club bound.

He may even be a January buy for someone as I'm fairly sure the Russian season is already underway and finishes in December and by then I guess Zenit will either have dropped into the UEFA Cup or be out of Europe.

While we're talking Zenit what about Thymoshuk?

As for Dos Santos, there is no way he would have left Barca without some sort of assurance from Ramos that he'll be playing on a regular basis. Not to say he has a guaranteed 1st team football deal, but i think he'll play a fair share of Games when fit, so it perfect reasonable that people are putting him in the first X1.

its because his 'very jealous' cousin who trained with him about 2 or 3 years ago doesn't think he's very good....bit strange he doesn't think he's worth a start especially as he used to go on and on last year how tarabt should be startin and given a go....or maybe that was coz his cousin said somethin

Arshavin is on £80k at the moment so he would be after around £100k.  Even Barcelona have been put off by this. 

The entire Russian squad bar one plays in their domestic league because the wages are so huge over there - it's the highest paid league in the world because it is heavily subsidised by the oligarchs over there.

Here we go then, i got back early this morning from banus. I was ment to come back on wednesday but stayed in his villa till yesterday. We are defo in for him, but so are liverpool(without alot of money),villa,city and chelsea. It was funny being with bale and dave in linekers that night, the bloke that runs it just got them both up there to start serving. Garath is a top bloke, bought us a few drinks and all his mate were alright aswell. He's got meetings planned next week when he comes back, he's still out there with his family. If we can do a deal with blackburn it could happen, if we offer dave the right money, it could happen. Lots of things to be sorted out.

If i know anything for sure i will let glory glory know.

You dont see the difference between the Gilberto situation and this one?. Anyway i was against the Dos Santos signing at first, thought he wasnt that impressive for Barca last season and misplaced a ridiculous amount of passes, BUT after finding out the fee we paid, i thought it was well worth the gamble. A player who has been playing for a club of that calibre would never in a million years join us without having certain assurances.

I can confirm that we have formerly expressed an interest in him, which has been positively received by Blackburn, but a fee has certainly NOT been agreed yet.

There are however more EPL clubs than just us and Liverpool currently at this stage (I haven't been told which, if we even know). We still believe though that we are in prime position (in contrast to Veloso when we got to this stage which was/is always a longer shot) and hope to push it through before we reconvene on 3 July.

Lennon wont be going (definitely not to Blackburn, or anywhere else unless we get an irresistible bid, but that's no more likely than any other player who is still in Ramos' plans).

Still getting a cagey response re. Gomes.

its because he hasnt done anything on english soil that i am sceptical, that and somoene that works for barca and sees him alot in person has question marks over him. but i think people have him on cause of alot of reputation and he came from barca, surely we should see him first before starting him

So surely thats why we have pre-season friendlies, after all Modric also hasn't played in the PL either.

We have at least 5 first team friendlies before the kick off at Boro and I'd guess with the calibre of some of thoughs teams we should get a fair idea how he will cope, although the lad has played at the highest table already including games in the CL.

If I was a betting man I'd say he'll be in the line up for Boro.
