Will clubs Furlough their employees

Unlikely (at least for players).

Very few employment contracts contain a clause allowing for a furlough period. That means that any such actions require an agreement between employer and employee for a temporary variation of contract.

In most circumstances people will accept and sign this as the only alternative is redundancy. For players, the equation is the opposite. They would want their contracts ended so that they and their filthy, stealing agents can get a chunk of sign on money at their new club.
 
@scaramanga , agree totally with your comments, but i suspect that almost all players (especially in the top leagues) will accommodate some sort of salary cut if the situation lasts for an extended period of time. Imagine how much public vilification there will be for the players who use this as an opportunity to get one over their clubs
