Troy Parrott

I think a move abroad would be a big mistake for him at his age, it's far easier for a midfield or winger to get game time than a striker very few teams would play him regularly as their main striker and he's not a No10.

Not getting any minutes in the u23s last night. Not getting in the bench in an FA cup replay.

Good luck getting him to sign a long term contact when he turns 18 in a month

He'll be off. Failed by Mourinho like Salah and De Bruyne.

Mourinho sent him a message in the press conference. When asked about Tanganga's contract expiring in the summer, he pretended not to understand, to buy himself some time... then clearly stated "Wrong. His contract is not up in the summer. You think I would play a player whose contract is up in the summer?"

This was a dig/prompt at Parrott.

And clearly not 'the truth' because he is playing Eriksen and Vertonghen all the time...

So contrary to what others were saying in the MouMou thread, Mou is always thinking 1 or 2 steps ahead, always trying to deflect, send messages etc. Never clear, never simple.

He cant sign a long term contract until the 4th of February when he's 18.
So that's all flimflam

In his post match interview Mourinho said about Tanganga: "He is not that kind of modern kid who is worried with pathways, the pathways it to work hard and take the opportunity which he did."

That might be another little hint about what is in Parrott's mind for the future.

There is something wonderfully simple about how Tanganga appear to go about his work. This, you suspect, is not a player surrounded by vultures.

Will be interesting to see how Gedson Fernandes is used by the Club in the coming months

Spot on, having spent most of my working life with young players it was always a problem when agents got inside their heads. You try telling the kids that if they work hard and concentrate on their game all the glory/money will follow.

How many other 17 year olds are getting minutes for premier league clubs?

Fans hear of an exciting prospect in the ranks and often think that means they're more advanced in their development than they actually are.

How many other 17 year olds have senior international caps?

How many other 17 year olds have a rabid national sports media speculating over everything he does?

How many other 17 years will be a priority of their agent and have the top clubs in Europe sniffing around.

If it comes to the 4th February (when he can sign a long term contract at 18) and he has a newly signed journeyman striker ahead of him, he is out of the Champions League squad and he has a manager who didn't trust young Salah and de Bruyne talking about pathways then there will be no signing of a contract.

Mourinho will be forcing a future 100m player to walk away.

The Kane injury had pulled back the veil and shown where he really is at the club. He was supposed to be convinced by the debut and the theatre of the match ball.

The only hope for Spurs is Parrott is a simple honest hard-working lad without the roosteriness that say Keane had at that age.

But his agent would be not advising properly if he signing him to a long term deal at club with record seeking Kane permanently in front of him, Mourinho as a manager and a chairman that can't move on players even when they want to go.

Really? REALLY??

One cap for Ireland? In a meaningless friendly. You can't use that as a benchmark.

The hype around Parrott is stupid, I mean really dumb. He's a great prospect, but he should be treated like every other academy player and given no special treatment. The end.
