The Official 2019/20 Premier League Thread

I’d probably agree if it was just this season, mate. Unfortunately the downward spiral is much longer term.

Anyhow, here’s hoping we turn it around tomorrow night.

Man of the match has to be Mike Dean! What a hero! :D First an outright beautiful dummy point to the spot, before throwing his arm the other way, and booking the Arse player for diving. Exquisite!
Then booking Freddy Ljungberg, like we're back in 2005. And the way he awarded the goal kick right at the death.......beautiful! He was on fire! :D:D

We can’t excuse our terrible performances by saying they match all the other terrible teams. Means we should be well clear in 3rd, putting pressure on Liverpool and City; not losing to Saudi Sportswashing Machine and Brighton, and enduring our worst ever home defeat.

Maybe some of performances are because the smaller teams are getting better and the bigger clubs arent as far ahead as they think.
Liverpool were very lucky against Sheffield, all the other top teams have dropped points against teams they 'shouldn't' have.
I don't know where the expectations of the top six rolling everyone else over has come but it doesn't happen in the PL, it's what makes the league the best in the world.
Us, utd, arsenal and Chelsea maybe struggling but the teams below are getting better. Usually they can only sustain it for one season but there's another team ready to climb over them.
It's becoming a more cut throat league every year.

Teams are getting smarter and don't bother trying to play open football, keep it tight, waste time, rotate the fouls and hope you get an early lead to defend.

Leicester are streets ahead of us at the moment.

Tempo and urgency

context is everything

we were the better side against them and var Saved them

There in a great run and have some from behind in a lot of games but their playing a really poor side tonight who will sack their manager very soon.

It's not a popular opinion but Brodge is a good manager - you just have to put up with the cringe stuff that comes with it

he is a very good coach too
Knows what it prioritise and get the best out of his players
Be interesting if he ever got a big job again

We also struggled against Southampton when we had 11.

How did we go for serge over Ricardo !

I don't want Poch to go at all, as im sure most will know, but would not be unhappy if we appointed Rodgers if we were looking
