They are 250 ahead, if we could bowl them out before lunch and be chasing 300 you would think with the batting talent we have we could chase that down

In reality, the tail will wag they will end up 400 in front and they will bowl us out for 150 again
 
Bowlers usually don't captain as the captains role is mainly in effect when you are the fielding side, having to bowl does take away your overall view in the field and some have had difficulty seeing what's gone on or taking themself off the bowling, also most are terrible fielders (bar Anderson) and so you can't captain from the boundary

We were actually very unlucky not to get more wickets late on yesterday. We deserved better. But that's usually the way it goes when you've got yourself into a hole - you don't get the breaks...

I think that’s the frustration, the talent is there but the application and technique seem to be lacking in this format. A lot of our semi decent scores came rear guard actions lower in the order and even in the World Cup it was very much a case of using the platform Bairstow and Roy gave us
