Stadium Thread

i'm gonna rename my company "Naming Rights" to cash in on years of free advertising in each consultation period

Patent Pending!

Are the Spanish clubs able to attract capacity attendances for their stadiums, bar RM and Barca of course? Plus, I thought there was no money in Spain at the moment? Unless it's all foreign investment.

That may be an impressive looking stadium, but that's gonna be a **** view from the gods and unnecessary as the stands behind the goals are fairly low.

it looks to me like they're just adding a roof and one main stand - 3 stands remaining the same

Marseilles looks amazing. Bilbao just a version of the new updated MFI flat pack stadiums.

We may not have any building work or concrete plans or anything, but at least Daws and Lennon found time to mince around in builders gear for an afternoon.

While other clubs are busy building stadiums we're fighting for permission to put in a new park bench round the back of the co-op ](*,)

The Bernabeau looks like a printer.

They could print of money using it, no one would say anything.

With Valencia's project I'm not sure what's more frustrating, having one that's half built and hasn't been touched in years now or being in our position where we haven't had an annoucnment in years... Least Valencia actually know they're part way there.

I'm glad that Spurs missed out on the Emirates/Wembley generation of new stadia. I think there's much more interesting, diverse design thinking going on now than there was 10 years ago when those stadia were green-lit.

Liverpool's plans for redeveloped Anfield leaked as Merseyside club prepare to expand stadium to almost 60,000 seats

This is how the new Anfield could look after Liverpool complete a £150million expansion of their famous stadium to a capacity approaching 60,000.

The plans would see the stadium's capacity rise from 45,000 to about 58,500, making it the third-largest venue in domestic football behind Old Trafford and the Emirates – until Emirates Marketing Project complete their own expansion of the Etihad to 61,500.

The images are understood to be official designs for the long-awaited plans, although they are likely to be updated in some areas before the unveiling, which is expected to come ahead of Chelsea’s title-deciding visit to Anfield this Sunday.

Liverpool are set to apply for planning permission to Liverpool City Council before the end of the season. Work on the new stadium will be in two stages, to be completed by 2018 if all goes to schedule.

An expanded Main Stand is the club’s priority but Liverpool will also seek planning permission to refurbish the Anfield Road end as a second phase of building work.

Sources close to the project say that the current seated section of the Main Stand will remain, with the old roof being removed and two new extra tiers added to make a three-tiered stand with a capacity of more than 20,000, making it the biggest stand in the ground.

All extension work will go on around the current stands to avoid reducing the stadium’s capacity and loss of match day revenues.

A number of houses backing on to Anfield would need to be demolished to allow stadium redevelopment. Liverpool City Council is known to have agreed deals for at least 67 of the 71 homes affected by the stadium plans, and is considering compulsory purchase orders for the remainder.

Liverpool appointed architects KSS to work on the stadium redevelopment plans - the same company that oversaw the design of executive areas at the City of Manchester Stadium in 2002, the Chelsea Village at Stamford Bridge and the company behind the designs of the proposed new stadium for Tottenham.

Liverpool first went public with plans for further expansion in 1999. Then-chairman David Moores was reluctant to risk the club’s future by taking out a £200m loan to pay for the redevelopment, though, instead deciding to find a buyer with the funds to do so.

Valencia's situation for sure.

Having been on a planned route to a new stadium that could push their club up a notch that's all stopped, the debt created for the club forced them to sell outstanding players like Silva, Mata and Villa. They consequently dropped down the table and out of the Champions League causing more financial problems. And their half build new stadium is standing there like a shrine to their failure, deteriorating steadily as time passes. If enough time passes the entire thing will be useless and any new project will have to almost start from scratch.

Re: Northumberland Development Project

Just to cheer everyone up Emirates Marketing Project have already started construction of their expansion and

Joe Anderson now confirming that all the houses have been secured, meaning the development can indeed go ahead without any need for CPOs.
