Really glad to be linked with him, he is the one young english player from the lower leagues I really want, you might remember I did the Dele Alli thread a year before we signed him and I have the same feeling with young sessegnon, who though he is described as a left back, is as much a left back as Bale was at that stage.

Would not mind a buy and loan back for him.

REVEALED: TOTTENHAM READY TO OFFER THREE PLAYERS IN PART-EXCHANGE TO LAND WONDERKID

By Editor Wayne Veysey | 17 years experience of breaking major stories at Evening Standard, PA and Goal, including exclusives like this

Tottenham are prepared to offer one of three players in part-exchange to land Fulham wonderkid Ryan Sessegnon, Football Insider sources understand.

The highly-rated left-back, 16, has been dubbed ‘the new Gareth Bale ‘after impressing scouts at the Premier League elite clubs with his performances in youth football.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Tottenham are weighing up a big-money move for Sessegnon, who is rated in the £6million bracket by Fulham.

Spurs do want to pay £6million for a teenager with just three first-team appearances to his name and are ready to offer one of their emerging players in part-exchange for the left-sided flyer, with three names set to be put to the Championship club.

It is understood that midfielder Harry Winks, 20, is one of those who has been discussed by the Tottenham hierarchy as an option.

Winks was in the Spurs matchday squad for their 1-1 draw at Everton as an unused substitute but was not part of the 18 who beat Crystal Palace 1-0 on Saturday.

Sessegnon has been targeted by the Premier League elite following a series of impressive displays for age group teams.

Football Insider revealed in February that Arsenal had made an offer for the England Under-16 captain, who has been dubbed ‘the next Gareth Bale’ by sources at Craven Cottage.

He is an attacking left-back who is a prolific goal creator and scorer, much like Bale was when he was coming through the ranks at Southampton.

Sessegnon, an England Under-17s international who only turned 16 in May, opened the scoring in Fulham’s 2-2 draw against Cardiff on Saturday, three minutes after coming on as a first-half substitute.

At 16 years and 94 days that not only made him the Championship’s youngest scorer, but also Fulham’s, and came just four days after he made his league debut in a 1-1 draw at Leeds.

Cottagers manager Slavisa Jokanovic expects there will be plenty more to come from the highly-touted teenager, who has emerged as a target for a number of elite Premier League clubs for his precocious left-back displays.

“Ryan can be good for us. He made a great impact for us,” Jokanovic told Sky Sports’ website of Sessegnon, who was born on May 18, 2000.

“He is a real winner and he is just 16 years and three months. He is a real young player.

“I’m sure in the future he can be big part of my squad and help us. He can play in different positions.”

Sessegnon is one of the most highly-rated young players at the prolific Fulham academy, which has produced a number of outstanding young talents in recent years, including Mousa Dembele and Patrick Roberts.

Sessegnon, whose brother Steve is also on Fulham’s books, scored three goals in six matches for England Under-16s and has now progressed to England Under-17s, making two appearances at that level.

Slightly misleading headline compared to the first paragraph.

I'd like to see Winks kick on with us so hope he's not really in the frame for this.
Could all just be drumming up interest and a bit of a bidding war for a young home grown talent of course but if we are really interested then you'd think our record on bringing through young players would stand us in good stead.

The one player I want us to sign over anyone

Loan him back and give them another prospect from our youth too to loan

Him and Patrick Roberts are two special players form what little I've seen of them

Is there anything linking us with him now, or is it just wishful thinking?

Honest questions. To me he doesn't really stand out to his opposite full-back Ryan Fredericks (who we released a year ago). What's the difference between the two? Is it just that Sessegnon is so young?

The guy is 16 and is already playing first team football and performing

He has pace to burn and for me is showing a great awareness of the game

I've only seen him play maybe 5 times but he doesn't look out of place and was a standout in half of those games

Fredericks looks good too and would suit a lower Prem team

yes, as already suggested. DO a Dele Alli-deal. Sign him in Jan, loan him back until Summer. Sell Davies in July

Indeed he is, no argument there. And he is probably too good to be back a back-up and I am sure he wont want to be that forever, which is why we may need to sell in Summer while his stock is still high

Walker-Peters plays fullback left and right?
He must be a future replacement?

I know he's young but KWP needs a lot of work on the defensive side of his game, he's a very good wing-back and always creates opportunities with his pace and control. In the recent match against Man City he was moved up from fullback to midfield when we were 2 down, which probably offered us more strength at the back and flair going forward.
