Quite right. You cannot allow people to leave the stadium if a bomb has gone off outside. There could easily be a secondary device. They could be in for a long wait because they will need to do a full sweep before they can let people out.

On top of that we know that it is a coordinated attack because there are different groups of gunmen across the city.

Do French Intelligence not pick these attacks up, there has been a few now, media saying 40-45 dead

It is hardly easy. Something like this is really difficult to pick up in advance. Look at the frequent high school shootings in the US.

The concert hall with the hostages is an Eagles of Death Metal concert. Apparently they are held hostage with the crowd as well.

Could easily have been planned outside of France.

The guns are clearly illegal but with open borders its difficult to police

BBC reporting really annoying me - asking someone in the restaurant about dead bodies and asking someone else if the migrant crisis could have been a catalyst
Thats what you expect from Fox or Sky

The hostages are at a jazz club I believe. I think that the incident near the Eagles of Death Metal gig was a separate incident

Very sad and from what I have seen of security specialists talking on the 24 hours news channels( I have insomnia so I watch a lot of it) it is only a matter of time before it happens here in England as you can not stop every attack in the planning stage.

The is the home grown element to terrorism but now also a mass influx of people to Europe and no checks on whom they are or there back grounds and then people returning from Syria with a delusional idea about how the world should be.

Last night I was watching BBC 24 it was about 3.30am I had some scrambled egg and sat down and watched for an hour or so. The was a report on the refugee crisis and they showed two of the cutest little girls you have ever seen looking all wide eyed and hopeful, it tugged at your heart strings and you would have to be unhuman to not feel for them. But to be fair to the BBC they also showed a guy who spoke with a slight British accent who had lived in Yorkshire for 5 years before being sent back to Afghanistan and now he was making the trip again. You could not help but wonder who he was and what his motives for coming back are, I imagine he just wants a better life and no one can blame him for that. But you got to wonder if the current crisis is making these things worse.

So the are many different reasons for attacks like this, but when I watch it I feel sad for the dead, I feel sad because it will happen in England before long and maybe involve people I love and I feel sad for the extra security that will be required and a change in our way of life. But i am also maybe because of the way my mind works I am unable to understand the people that do this, if you hate the west and the way of life here so much, fine dont visit, ignore us.

Anyway that was a bit of a ramble, again I feel very sorry for the people of France.

You are right but that is not just the case for the UK but all countries.

With regards to immigration. So far attacks in the UK have been perpetrated by home grown terrorists, there is no mass influx of people into the UK from outside Europe or reason to think that immigration should present an increased risk.

I sincerely believe that we need to make sure that we do not allow incidents like this to divide people or create barriers.

I totally agree with your points, but I am referencing the security experts including and I do not remember his name but the ex head of MI5 who talks on the BBC news who says that people returning from Syria is a major problem.

Immigration per say is not the problem but inadequate border controls is something that needs looking at, interesting that a few countries in Europe are looking of pulling out of the free movement agreement and I do not believe that it is about the huge numbers arriving but also the type of people arriving.

But I agree with your first point about terrorists being home grown, I think much more should be done to stop radicalisation of young and impressionable minds, from what I have heard it seems prisons have become breeding grounds for muslim extremism.

A friend of mine works as a security guard in Brighton we are going to the game monday at the Amex the under 21's. He is always going on about how soft we are in this country and we should be more like Israel, I would hate that to happen but maybe that is the way it will go.

Of course people returning from Syria is an issue, the same as people returning from parts of east Africa, Pakistan, Afghanistan and various other places is a concern.

I am not aware of any countries that are seriously considering leaving the Schengen zone because of security concerns. The countries that have suspended it have done so temporarily or put additional controls in place for non-EU citizens because the volumes of people coming in or the domestic political climate.
