Oops. Golden opportunity to close the gap on Chelski missed. Unless, of course:

it’s missing your usual loquacious style @Spurs7891 but you’ve picked a banker at least

    Shut it boy!
You have single-handedly created the greatest 48 hour between matches match thread in the history ofmmath threads. STAND TALL. STAND PROUD. STAND MIGHTILY AS WE STRIDE TO VICTORY 5-1, an Archibald hat-trick (coupled with some old Shoot! column reminders of how much he hates them), Bobby Moore own-goal in protest at being prevented from joining his beloved Spurs and a Jimmy Neighbour 35 yard volley. Bassong own-goal for them. Sorted.

Dembele is available according to the OS - surprising. Can't imagine we'll risk his fragile frame from teh start though given that Wanyama and Winks should be available and VW only played 30 mins or so on Tues

Somewhat likely that he was left out at Swansea to start this one I think.

We have won our last 3 league matches. We need to go on a long winning run to stay in the top 4 race. London derbies against West Ham are never easy as they always lift their games against us. They have destroyed our league title chances in the last 2 seasons by beating us away both times. We did beat them away in the league earlier this season but they then beat us in the League Cup match at Wembley when they came from 0-2 down at half time to win 3-2. It is time we get revenge for that defeat now.

Kane has scored 7 goals against West Ham. He also scored 2 goals against West Ham in the league match at Wembley earlier this season. We will need to rely on him for the goals again. After his poor form earlier, Alli has now scored in his last 2 league matches for us. Hope he can continue his goal run. It will help us greatly if Eriksen and Son lift their game as well. Lamela's work rate and creativity will be helpful for us if he can either start this game or come on later in the match.

Our midfield need to control this match if we want to win this match. It is really good to see Wanyama returning after his long injury problems. We have really missed his work rate in midfield. Our ideal midfield partnership will be Dembele and Wanyama. If Dembele is not fully fit, Dier can partner Wanyama in midfield. Somehow feel Sissoko will be very useful in this match if he gets to play.

Our defence haev not been the same since Alderweireld got injured. We have become too error-prone in defence without Alderweireld. Lloris, Vertonghen and Sanchez really need to avoid making those silly mistakes. A bit worried about Sanchez as he seems to concede too many freekicks near our goal and gets involved in too many yellow card situations. I think Sanchez needs to concentrate on safety-first defending without getting too ambitious all the time. We also need Lloris to get back his best form as he seems to be making too many errors in goal lately.

Can see West Ham stepping up their game and making it harder for us. We need to step up our game to compete against them. This is going to be another tense match. Let's hope we will turn up with the right team and meteorology to perform well and get a convincing win over West Ham.
