    Re: BAE

he does a stand up job of defending the left side all by himself - sometimes he gets caught out, but when you have a LM that tends to shirk his defensive responsibilities then that will happen. i think we'll notice a big improvement, defensively at least, when he is back in the side

What the hell does Neville know about being a fullback??! Clearly Vertonghen and even Naughton are better right?

What would you say to those who would prefer Vertonghen at LB? Are they wrong because their opinion is different?

    Re: BAE

Shock... horror... we agree on something.

Exactly - they showed an analysis that 50% of attacks went down our left side against both man bricky and Arse - thats no coincidence - they targeted that area and saw Vert as a 'weak' point.

Lets not forget too and someone touched up on it a while ago on another thread - he really does set up some of our attacks and actually has great understanding with Bale.

Like you say I think we will see an improvement in our defending simply because of those 50% 90% will be dealt with by BAE.

We really miss him. Especially when we are under pressure at the back, he can receive the ball and be cool as a cucumber and retain possession.

Maybe reading and believing twitterspew is the problem.

    Re: BAE

Agree with this. Ekotto is a superb full back. Vertonghen is a centre half who can play full back if we are in a bind.

And if they believe Vertonghen is the better LB they're wrong? Is that really what your saying?
