Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

Having the east side of the stadium fully cladded will have absolutely zero impact on when the stadium is ready to open or not, that is entirely down to when they can fix the safety systems. As I understand it the stadium was never intended to be “finished” this season anyway.

Yes but having the windows in will stop people falling out. :) Should help with getting a safty certificate n all. But I think it will be a symbolic milestone, and should coincide with the internal fit out being concluded. Just my opinion.

I will confess I recently had a full tour of the stadium. My first impression of the pitch/stands left me speechless. I cannot tell you exactly why, but the place feels like home. It looks like home. It IS home. It feels very intimate and intimidating, yet huge at the same time. Every single element of the stadium has been conceived and created with the ethos of the club/spirit of the supporters in mind. It is a very, VERY special stadium, and I can absolutely understand why the manager is keen to get in ASAP, because my feeling immediately was that we will smash teams in there week after week. One thing which hasn't been mentioned is the roof design and how it will work with corner angles of the East/West Stands at the Park Lane end to create a LOT of noise. This is not going to be a quiet stadium!!!!! Anyway, it is everything others have said and then some for me personally. Further, the concourse areas have so many great and different food and drink options, that I firmly believe many will be there early to walk around the stadium and sample a bit of everything on offer; there is great stuff everywhere, and it looks to me like the club have done a great job in bth providing top class facilities for EVERYONE (not just corporate) and making sure they have the wares to attract us to the grand early.
It is well worth the wait.

p.s. a special word for Daniel Levy here. Debate all you want, but when you step inside this place, you will see the fruits of his excellent, excellent work and determination to deliver not just a great new stadium, but the best one in Europe. Quite how it has achieved both intimacy and size miraculous. The man deserves your praise and respect, something which will be clear when it is open. FWIW I have no connection with him whatsoever, and my opinion is purely based on what I saw.

There goes my afternoon kip.

So that’s that then...See you in N17 in August.

Club announcement

Wembley National Stadium Limited (WNSL)'s planning application for a variation on the 51,000 cap at Wembley Stadium - as a contingency measure in the event we require them - to host five domestic fixtures at a capped capacity of 62,000 and any additional Champions League home fixtures at the full 90,000 capacity was approved by Brent Council's Planning Committee tonight.

Premier League home games that we have already announced ticketing details for (Watford, Saudi Sportswashing Machine and Leicester City) will remain capped at 51,000.

As announced previously, we shall look to provide further clarity on our new stadium, including test event dates, in due course.

I was walking past a building site the other day and it would clearly have been too dangerous for me to wander through it. They'd found this incredible invention for making a temporary wall. It was like they'd taken wire and twisted it into some kind of mesh. Then they'd put loads of it together until it made what I can only describe as some kind of fence made out of wire mesh.

fudging genius it was.

Don't post in here again Donald.

Do we actually need to go to 62,000 ??
We're struggling to sell out 51k at the moment and the general Wembley apathy is only going to get worse with each further new stadium delay

My guess is it's for the Woolwich game. Otherwise you're right, I can't see the point.

Lots of social media chatter in last day that this new stadium isn't opening this season...:(

One example from a post SC (pinch of salt and all that):
I worked on the stadium for around 6 months putting the crane supplies in and the initial temporary building supplies (have previously posted pics). Just spoke to my old manager and Tyco have told Levy & co this week that this season is a write off. Pinch of salt and all that but comes directly from Tyco contracts manager straight to my Tottenham season ticket holder ex manager.

Not bothered really if it's next season as I dont think I will renew and this makes it easier but if it is, it makes the club look like a right laughing stock and there is no debating that. Anyone that thinks otherwise is in cloud cuckoo land. To say it will be ready for September 2018 when in fact it will be right next to September 2019 a year later is absolutely disgraceful management from the club. Very very sexy.

But, hey, im not bothered.;)

Clearly.... ;)

I find the rumours and conjecture from people on site interesting

I’ve had a meeting with representatives from Tyco and ADT and I asked them about NWHL... flatly stopped the conversation dead. They have been told not to discuss it as it’s an ongoing project

I have asked if I can go with them and see it thiugh so that will be interesting if that comes off
