I don't think fixtures can be bought forward if they are being rescheduled, only put back but I could be wrong though.

Edit - think I'm just talking bollox.

Yeah. City played Everton couple weeks ago instead of the cup final weekend

If you think about it logically though there is no time for it to be moved forward. You probably need a month for each game to let fans know and release tickets etc and its less than a month until the Palace game was to go ahead anyway. It won't be played before the original date and it won't be played afterwards in March due to the internationals. I'm still sticking with my April 13th for the opening game with Palace shortly after.

Only time I can remember it being moved forward was funnily enough the Palace game last year but that was moved forward a day due to our replay in the Fa Cup

We only confirmed where we’re playing Arsenal last and that game is next weekend
Clubs need about 2/3 weeks to sell tickets and the venue is the only thing that matters (it’s never the fans)

Agreed, I think it will be Huddersfield too. That leaves us with 53 days for the final 52 pages. One page a day - I'd say that's doable.

Venue is important but the date is more important IMO. People would always be travelling to spurs arsenal on that day so that hasn't changed. Moving the date of a game takes more time and planning I reckon.

Well I can certainly sprout some more bollox quite easily so I'll contribute no worries.

It’s what they do and TBF they do it well

    So here's a random thing:

We will lose a game at NWHL at some point. Do you prefer to get the loss "over with" early (less pressure) or to start unbeaten and try to maintain that record for as long as possible? (more pressure) The latter option - depending on when our first game is - increases the chance of Arse, West Ham, Chelski or the like being the first away team to win at NWHL.

I think I'd like us to go unbeaten, but I'd probably brick myself before the first NL derby, knowing it could be our first loss there. Much prefer it to be a slip up against Wolves or Burnley or some other meh team.

I reckon aim for 5 years unbeaten there. Just carry on the form from the last season at WHL

last season our games against Newcastle home (17th March) and Brighton away (20th April) were both rescheduled due to our FA Cup involvement however they were-rescheduled in the different order i.e. Brighton was rescheduled for Tuesday 17th April and Newcastle for Weds 9th May so with is in mind there's no reason why the new Brighton date shouldn't be before the original 6th April date and now take place before we play Crystal Palace.

The only available midweek dates (to comply with UEFA's regulations about not clashing with CL or EL) are w/c 1st April or w/c 22nd April. There may an alternative which would be to move one of our saturday fixtures to a Friday night and then play one of the re-arranged games on the subsequent Monday (Chelsea did this to fit in fixtures in 2016-17) and this would probably suit Sky as well (which sadly is an integral part of any rescheduling). However, with potential Champions League dates to factor in (for both us and Emirates Marketing Project as a possible Friday/Monday switch) the mind boggles!

Clearly our potential continued involvement in the Champions League adds additional confusion as does the fact that Wembley is not available for weekend of 6th April. Had Brighton been drawn away to Emirates Marketing Project then everyone might have been able to plan with some conviction that we would still play them on 6th April.

It seems that the club has now been pushed into a corner if we believe the widely reported rumour that The Premier League have stated that at least 5 games at the end of the season must be played at the new stadium; playing the opening game on a weeknight is clearly not desirable for a number of reasons however an April midweek is a very different proposition from a mid-winter midweek as by April it will still be light post 7pm. Think club will just have to take this on the chin if they really want to move in asap this season.

My guess therefore is that IF the stadium is as close as we think Palace will be rescheduled for 23/24 April which then buys a few weeks; if Brighton needs to be rescheduled (which we'll know by 17 March) it will be rescheduled for Weds 3rd April and this will become the first game although the hope will surely be that Millwall win and the game goes ahead on Sat 6/Sun 7 with all the fanfare. However this then prevents a big PR build-up of more than 18 days.

As for Champions League....well UEFA and The Premier League are independent bodies and there is therefore a scenario whereby the remaining PL games have to be played at Wembley but the CL QF home lef (on either 9/10 or 16/17 April) is played at NWHL as the opening game.

I'd love it to open under the lights, this stadium looks absolutely amazing at night.

There is an agreement that changing a game date due to TV be notified 6 weeks prior to the game date. This is not "official" but they try to keep to it.

    http://www.fsf.org.uk/blog/view/tv-fixture-hell-premier-league-football-league-sky-sports-bt-sport

The Premier League have always said they aim to give supporters six weeks’ notice ahead of any fixture changes while the Football League commits to a shorter 28-day period. Yet both have thrown fans under the bus in recent weeks in order to satisfy the whims of broadcasters.

I remember that happening, i heard about it on the radio on the way home from playing Sheff Wed in the FA CUP. It was a tragedy waiting to happen as a lot of grounds in those days were always overcrowded for the conditions.
