If he can last 60mins plus then he needs to start games now. Urgency and fight is what we severely lack.

He has the fighting spirit for sure, when his hips allow him, a cheeky finish and sly digs at opponents. Needs to play more

He needs to not be selfish. He works hard for the team but a couple of times yesterday he tried to do too much instead of passing. I like to think that he’s doing it for the team, fired up to get the team back in the match but he needs to learn when to pass and when to go solo. Perhaps selfish isn’t the right word, and instead to make better decisions.

Yesterday I said Lamela should have started, and surprise, surprise we looked a much better team when he and Lo Celso came on in the second half

3 games running now that double sub has turned the play in our favor, i suppose you have to consider it has been when chasing the game and so obviously a little more urgency in general helps also

Maybe if we had starting with that formation and those players instead of waiting when we are chasing the game........

i mean both Lo Celso and Lamela are better options than Eriksen right now

Who do you bring in to replace him at the 60 minute mark though, Eriksen, Winks, Skipp?

The bonus of them being used as impact subs is that we can use lots of energy as a team being solid for the first 60 and then they can give the team a bit of a breather while they go mad chasing, harrying and attacking.

    Whoever we have.

If we score first, winks and skipp can hold the midfield and Mourinho is an expert at that.

We need aggression, sly and bite to ruffle the opponents, and not let the opposition believe that we are softies and pushover that can be beaten.

Dude it is no bonus when every time they come on they are always under pressure and have a limited amount of time turn the game round. It makes no sense whatsoever for not starting with your best players if they are fit and you have a good formation in which they can play.

And why do you assume that he always has to be replaced on the 60 minute mark?

I would rather we pick our best team to win.

Yesterday we effectively played with 10 players while Eriksen was on the bench

That is more likely to happen when he comes on when we are losing, and the minutes are eeking away.

Why the fukk do we have to take him off on 60 minutes, particularly if he is playing well?

Both Lamela and Lo Celso are options to start, if not both definitely at least one of them

Are you insinuating that no matter how well he plays he will never be more than a sub for us? That attitude will do little to inspire 27 year old

We have to use Lamela ( when he is fit) because we would never get anyone to pay good money for him because of his injury record. But i tend to agree with those who say he should come on rather then start.

He pretty much always has a positive effect on a game when coming on as a sub, whether chasing a game or protecting a lead - shame we can't rely on him because of his fitness as a player like that is a value squad asset
