The new season is only a couple of weeks away so it's time to start this game up again for those of you that are interested in playing again - new players more than welcome!
This thread will remain in SN&V until the first round has been played out and will then move to General Football.
The idea is to back a winning team each round of Premier League fixtures, if your team loses or draws then you are out* - if your team wins you go through and can choose again for the following round of fixtures. You can only back a team once, until a new game starts, so choose carefully. Each game ends when there is only one person remaining (The Last Man Standing) at which point a new game starts with the following round of fixtures. Players can choose from all 20 premier league teams at the beginning of each new game.
The above is the standard way to play LMS, but in order to make things a bit more interesting and to hopefully keep peoples interest throughout the season ive introduced a points system which allows players who have been knocked out to continue playing the game, whilst picking up points - come the end of the season the player with the most points is crowned overall winner.
Consecutive wins from the first round onward will earn you 2 points, once you are 'knocked out' you will earn 1 point for every win.
for example:
player 1 - pick 5 winners in a row and you'll have earned 10 points (2/2/2/2/2)
player 2 - pick 2 winners in a row, then a loss and then two more winners and you'll have 6 points (2/2/0/1/1)
The Last Man Standing (last person to remain on consecutive wins) for each game will earn a LMS Bonus which will depend on the number of rounds that the game had lasted - so using the example above 5 bonus points would be awarded to player 1.
