Don't underestimate the attraction to other teams of Trippier being English and counting as a home-grown player (although I sort of ruin this theory immediately when I think that there are two English, homegrown players in Max Aarons and Wan Bissaka that I would happily swap out Trippier for.

    Utd would be perfect.

He's not going to improve them at all but they will pay top money for him.

Surprised he’s being linked with a move away. Just for the fact he’s been awful this season

I think its becuase we are trying to sell him.

Decent backup, but if we can get 15-20m for him, sell sell sell.

I think that is the clubs aim, but of course to get something for him. Trippier is a decent back up. Did well with Walker as first choice. Did well begining of the season when his head was high off the back of the world cup. But now, Foyth and KWP are just as good back up, if not better. We could happily sell Aurier as well, though I think he might come good.

Not sure what he could do here as he left his man offside and low and behold that player made a run for the ball abs stayed off side

My old eyes suggest the standing foot makes it offside but the foot about to hot the ground plays him on.

What's his average, because I'm guessing that's good for him?

with a bit of luck his form will see him dropped from the England setup this summer, he can have some time off, and then get his form back. The old saying "form is temporary, class is permanent" isn't a perfect fit here, as I think his form actually mislead as to his true ability last year, but he's entirely capable of returning to the same player who scored in a world cup semi.

At the moment the lack of competition for him due to injury and maturity (Aurier and Walker-Peters respectively) is as much a contributing factor I think.

    I think it's our number 1 priority.

Most of the England WC boys have struggled. Take out Sterling and there aren't many success stories. I'd suspect he hasn't been 400% all season. I'd expect an upturn in form next season.

No offence but this whole he scored in a semi final of the world cup blows my mind.

He scored a free kick in a football match that much is true. But he is such a bad footballer his manager had to play another right back in the team (walker) to cover him.

The only good thing about him being cack is I can prove to some posters on here I dont protect English footballers.

He is awful and frankly the hair cut and the tattoos make me think he is as mentally slow as he plays football.

I would expect an upturn and we have all probably been a bit harsh at times.
But we still need an upgrade. He is a good 5-8th place RB and decent top 4 back up RWB.
But we now need someone who can defend at a better standard and offer more link to play going forward rather than just crossing.

He's done well for us, time for both to move forward.

That's as stupid an argument I've ever heard, has gb hacked your account?
Any manager that plays a great player out of position to cover an inferior player in that position is an idiot and would be hung out to dry.

Walker has pace but can't put in a cross and Trippier can't defend but can cross or used to be able to. Walker even said he'd never played that position before in his life. I thought Southgate done really well by playing them together otherwise England would have had a big issue down the right side. I don't expect Trippier to play for England again now with Alexander-Arnold and Wan Basska coming through, full backs that can do both roles. It always covered the issue England have at centre back with only Maguire being a reliable centre back. A back four of either Walker/Trippier and Stones in it would get obliterated, even for City Stones has been relegated to the bench or plugging in centre mid. I actually think that's the position where he'll end up.
